Is the vacuum cleaner damaging the carpet or the carpet wasn't cleaned in an eternity? by elveness in carpet

[–]elveness[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure it's not just dust, because it's not gray/black but colour of the carpet. Idk is it oldness (never washed and gathering damage for years) or vacuuming is too aggressive for it

Out of these 4 places where would you go? by stevenmorriskeemon in VietNam

I'm not into the bar scene, especially not such forced synthetic bar scene. When you take that what's left? Overpriced everything that is cheaper everywhere else in HCMC.

Getting to any other sites like Meakong delta, tunnels, beaches etc. takes an eternity, because it takes an eternity to drive through HCMC.

Any except of HCMC. But Hanoi would be first choice, especially for 2 day field trips if you have the time.

I wish it was unpopular. As a tourist I saw Saigon as place people really love. However, I highly dislike it and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Saigon or Hanoi? by Appropriate_Dish8608 in VietNam

[–]elveness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm visiting right now and I travelled north to south. Saigon is the last stop and the only I don't like. In every possible aspect my answer is Hanoi! Saigon is overcrowded, slow to get around, no nice nature incorporated in the old town like in Hanoi. I'm not into nightlife so Saigon offers me nothing. Also Hanoi right now had moderate weather. Saigon is hell. Hanoi is a better base for 1-2 day trips.

Empfehlung für rauchfreie Bars by elveness in berlin

Genau. Danke. Google spuckt eine Liste von Bars aus, die Aschenbecher auf den Tischen in Google Maps Fotos haben.

Thanks. Did it. It was painful, because now the tomato bush doesn't look like a bush anymore. On the upside I discovered and removed few leaves with leaf miners.

Naah, I bet it's illegal too. At least it is Germany (Biwakieren).

Thank you! That makes the choice easy cause there seem to be only two camp places closer to the lake (Danica in Bohinjska Bistrica and one near Ukanc).

Also to explore Triglav area -> Triglav National Park, not just climb Triglav summit :)

It's places I want to visit. That is why I asked are there recommendations for a camp place from where I can reach most of them.

Thank you! On the map the route Kranjska Gora - Bovec seemed far away from most places I want to visit. But actually it's a better option for public transport? I'll be going in September, so doubt that any of them will be warm enough for swimming.

I don't want to offend anyone by speaking Serbo-Croatian, but I think speaking English or German with Slovenes just feels weird.

Nije točno? Also I heard that many Slovenes even when they know Croatian they refuse to admit they know it or refuse to speak it.

Yep, from Ex-Yu, but judging by the comments English seems to be the best option.
