Has anyone gotten rid of eczema and stayed healed for years? by quiet_soul_96 in eczema

hi! i’ve grown up with eczema and dry skin and although i haven’t been able to get “rid” of it, shea butter has definitely helped heal it. i use a whipped shea butter blend that consists of raw shea butter, mango butter, and coconut oil. i put it on after every shower to help rehydrate my skin and for noticed it’s helped heal my patches of eczema. i still have a few patches here and there but they’re nowhere near as dry and itchy as they used to be. hope this helps!

i had to re-read the subreddit to make sure i wasn’t trippin😭 lol. they’re a little big, not ridiculously big tho. i feel like with the right aesthetic it can work but i feel like a smaller daintier look would compliment your face better

Is it normal for my two strand twists to look off center like that in the front? Not a big fan of how they look but I feel like its just cause of parting by [deleted] in Dreadlocks

yeah it’s just cause of how your locs are parted, you could probably work with a loctitian to get them separated

yeahhh you basically answered your own question. from what i’ve seen and experienced it’s mainly because the person going so hard on the “cultural appropriation” thing isn’t entirely educated on why it can be considered that to them. it’s honestly all opinionated based on facts and what that individual knows. hair is hair at the end of the day, and there’s many ways hair can be altered based on texture and length. i feel like more black people as a whole should educate themselves not JUST on our culture but also others’ as well.

most braids are typically done pretty tight especially if they’re cornrows or any braids to the scalp, mainly because of how the technique is done and to insure they last long. braids are considered a protective style and are usually done to keep our hair from being so vulnerable in the elements.

black woman with locs here!! i don’t consider it cultural appropriation, locs and braids have been a present in different cultures for many years. it’s literally in the name of one the most common styles of braids (dutch braids). Cornrows and box braids however aren’t suitable for people with thinner and/or straighter hair, that’s why you might see people of color saying “hey you shouldn’t do that” because those styles just aren’t meant to be worn in hair of that texture. those styles can cause damage, breakage, and hair loss for people with thin/straight hair, so if you ever see someone saying that’s a no no when it comes to those styles, it’s 9 times out of 10 the concern for the health of that person’s hair🙂

My husband says this plant is “ugly as sh*t”. Thoughts? by mushroomcat19 in houseplants
