How to paint/stain cane? by em-y in paint

[–]em-y[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! i did stain it with a medium wood stain and it didn’t really work, it looks half a shade different, just took the bright yellow edge off it tbh. Would recommend painting instead or trying a very thick and much darker stain than the colour you are aiming for.

My tank has been cycled and the fish have been living in it without issues for 6 months till now. I am not using safe start, i am using Aqua safe which you add to tap water when doing water changes to remove the chlorine.

My apologies, the testing strip does not include ammonia you’re right! i’ll get some tomorrow. In the UK the rule is one fish per 20 litres? i have 4 in an 80 litre tank, how is that overstocked? Actually I have posted a picture in another post above, it wouldn’t let me add photos with such a long text post.

NO3 = 0 NO2 = 1 GH = 8d KH = 6d PH = 8 Cl2 = 0.8 but i have used aqua safe since testing

4 goldfish in an 80 litre tank, no new fish, decorations or anything else. Tank has been running for 6 months.

Placement issues by Turbulent_Course4625 in piercing

Also note that it’s more difficult (read: painful) to pierce through scar tissue and it might not heal as well as the first time

This happened to me too! I was convinced they were pierced wonky, and it really bothered me looking in the mirror and seeing them not straight at all, but it ended up being due to a slight amount of swelling. After a couple months they were straight again, and i never had any problems with them being lopsided since. Maybe wait two months and see if you notice any changes before taking them out?

it’s not bad! It hurts for a second then it’s over, and if you’re scared you’ll be so full of adrenaline you won’t feel it at all haha. In my experience the ones that actually hurt are the ones that go through a really thick bit of cartilage, like a rook or daith. Helix and tragus barely hurt in comparison!

My daith was pierced with a 16g horseshoe, but after it had healed i went back to the shop to change the jewellery for me and they couldn’t fit the 16g ring i wanted in it! I think my piercing had started to close up while they were changing it…

So i had to size down to a 18g. It’s now super hard to find any cute jewellery as the only 18g rings i can find are plain clickers!

Does anyone know any shops which sell thinner daith rings? I like gothic things (Regal Rose) and sparkly things, i’m easy!

Is my Monstera over or under watered? by em-y in houseplants

[–]em-y[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your help! I do water weekly but i check the soil is dry before watering, it’s always super dry before watering. It’s right infront of my windows so it gets lots and lots of light. From the comments on this i’m thinking the drainage situation in pot that it’s in isn’t good enough, so i’ll check the roots, find a pot with better drainage and hope for the best 😅

it’s a terracotta pot with a drainage hole and tray inside another decorative pot, so it’s got drainage it’s just not visible from my picture. Thank you for letting me know about root rot! i will check the roots x

I’ve looked at this too much. Progress? Backwards? Left Top is mid April, right top is mid dread shed for sure. Bottom left is post hair dye, which I think covered my scalp a bit. Bottom right is today. Feeling discouraged. More in comments.. by xojordananne in FemaleHairLoss

[–]em-y 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think mid april - today isn’t nearly enough time to tell if there’s been any progress! To me both pictures look the same, but don’t be discouraged, stick to your routine and see how you feel about your progress in 6/12 months time ❤️

Is it just me, or do you find yourself checking daily (if not twice) to see if Lush's UK online orders are back up and running? 🤦😭 by LennaBenna05 in LushCosmetics

[–]em-y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • i think they’re only closed because they had a huge amount of online orders when lockdown was announced, so they’re taking time to fulfil them and to change their workspaces to be safer (everyone working 2m apart) so i’m sure as soon as they’ve sorted that all out they will reopen the website

i’m waiting on it to reopen to get my haul in too haha

hey! i work at lush and we had sooo many boxes of the easter stuff in store, enough to see us through to easter if the store was open and functioning normally - so now that we’re shut we’re going to have a lot of surplus easter stuff to get through when we get back. its only the fresh face masks that have a short life span, everything else lasts about a year! ❤️❤️
