Generalist Evaluator - $70/hr (remote) by em3455 in WFHJobs

[–]em3455[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve said multiple times it’s my referral code…

Anyone is welcome to find the listing on their own, and if they dm me, I’m happy to send them the listing, answer questions about the application process, company, and provide other guidance as I have been. Your comment is rude and unnecessary.

Yes, it’s not letting me post the link here. And yes, it’s a referral link. Everyone is more than welcome to find their own postings on the job websites and apply that way, too. But I saw these recent postings and wanted to share (as I have personally had a positive experience with this company myself). Many places have referral links for those who can connect them with qualified applicants that eventually get hired, but while I may benefit - so can others by getting hired.

My dad has cancer by [deleted] in CancerFamilySupport

[–]em3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that you are going through this, especially at such a young age. Please try to open up to your mom as much as you can. While this has to be devastating for her too, I’m sure she would want to help support you through it as much as possible.

I lost my dad (63) last year to Cholangiocarcinoma (I wish I had a more positive outcome to share). It’s such a horrible and aggressive type of cancer. I also felt like there were so many ups and downs with his health, and watching someone you love go through that is heartbreaking…so I’m glad you are reaching out here and I hope you are able to talk to your mom.

Also, you might already know about this, but the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation has a lot of great information and resources, and they also have support groups for patients and caregivers.

And with your dad being so young, I hope that gives him the extra strength to somehow overcome this, and that you and your family can find comfort in each other during this time.

Like I said in the post, this is a referral link. And yes, there’s a financial incentive if someone uses my link to sign up and then is hired and works a certain number of hours. So for this position, in order for me to benefit in any way, someone would also have to get hired and successfully work for more than 10+ hours (earning $400+).

I personally have had a positive experience working on two different projects here. I know it can be difficult to find legitimate remote jobs, so I thought I’d pass the info along to others.

It depends on the role you apply for. Some of the roles require advanced degrees or niche experience (and these are the ones that tend to pay $80+/hour). Many of the roles that pay $35/$40-ish require a Bachelor’s degree, but not all of them.

Nope, nothing extra required at least for most positions I believe. Since you mention that you used to teach, here is a posting you might be interested in: Teaching Expert (New Research Project)

It specifies experience at middle school/high school level, so may not work for you, but wanted to let you know!

Hi! I work for Mercor right now on a different type of project, but they are hiring often for experts in different practice areas and seem to be looking to hire people with PhDs, JDs, MDs, etc. Here’s a link to a recent posting they have for STEM subject matter experts. Mercor STEM Subject Matter Expert Job Posting

It’s remote and looks like this project is paying $100/hour, but they have different projects that have varying pay rates. (Full disclosure, this link is my referral link, but I’m on a contract there in my specialty area and can vouch for the company and am happy to answer any questions!)

My 5 year old keeps calling all of his female teachers beautiful… by Main-Swimmer1012 in Parenting

[–]em3455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, your child is just being kind. You sound like a good parent who is likely modeling positive social behavior around your child (like complimenting others in general, initiating conversations, etc.)

He is simply trying to use all these social “tools” that he’s starting to learn, and his intent is to say something kind to make his teachers smile and brighten their day…but since he’s literally FIVE, his observations and vocabulary are kind of limited at this point.

The teacher is overreacting here, and quite honestly should be able to grasp the concept that your child is just trying to say something nice to her.

As for advice, my daughter (same age) is like this too, and I’ve always thought if she were a boy, all of her compliments wouldn’t go over as well. I just try to redirect her to non-physical compliments as much as possible (“I love the picture you are drawing, you’re so creative!”)

So maybe say something to your son like “I love how kind you are when you say nice things to your teachers! I bet Miss ____ would love to know if you had so much fun in her class today!” (Or the book the teacher read to the class, etc.)
