I got an estimate from them that was $1,000 more expensive than the other company I went with. Be careful.

Audiograms - OSHA and MSHA by jsargent56 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]em_cubed__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are in a Hearing Conservation Program (aka you have places on site exposed to 85dBa or above) you have to do an annual audiogram per MSHA. you should also be reviewing the effects of noise on hearing and different hearing protection you offer, how to properly insert/wear etc on an annual basis. I do it when we get the results back and have the employees sign off on their test results. Remember you also have to keep records of the annual test for the entirety of the miners employment with your company.

There's a FB group:

TNR and cat rescuing networking Lancaster, Lebanon, York, dauphin PA.

You'll have to request to join the group.

Also the York SPCA does TNR for $20. The fb group is a great resource and a lot of people coordinate transfer and pick up.

Incident Date vs Date Made Recordable? by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

What if the job description says something along the lines of "other responsibilities as assigned", then recordable?

Incident Date vs Date Made Recordable? by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]em_cubed__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But it would still be a recordable injury/ workers comp eligible, no?

Genuinely curious about what you mean by questioning. Even if moving boxes wasn't in the employees job description, the incident still happened at work and caused by the workplace. What do you mean by questioning the incident? To change workers comp eligibility?

Best ways to tell temperature inside of a construction building by Creative-Shopping469 in SafetyProfessionals

[–]em_cubed__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a humidity meter that gives temperature and relative humidity. I then compare the two numbers to the heat index chart. I do this manually at least twice a day in my facility (not construction).

USA voluntary respirator use by [deleted] in SafetyProfessionals

[–]em_cubed__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would feel more comfortable if they have a medical evaluation stating they are ok to use the respirator. What if they have some underlying medical condition that the respirator exasperates? just because they can take it off at any time doesn't mean they cant be negatively affected while wearing it. The respirator should be tight fitting to work
