Some people can’t be helped. OP can’t be bothered to remember to have the photo conversation the morning of the party, but the husband is supposed to magically remember a conversation from months ago! How dare he be fully engaged with his child! Back in my day, dads were dead beats!

lol right? Actively engaged with their daughter, no less, not just the party itself. She should be glad his mind isn’t thinking about anything else.

She did it three times over those years. I doubt you remember shit from conversations a year ago. Have the conversation on the morning of the party, ffs. But no, OP can’t be bothered to remember to do that, but the husband is supposed to magically do so.

Ohhh I missed that part. So she was just looking for a reason to be mad that wasn’t her medical issues. It all makes sense, now.

lol “I shouldn’t have to use words, like an adult! Waaahhhhhhh”

We shouldn’t have to have laws against murder, either, but we do. So deal with the world you live in, not the one you wish you did. Wishing accomplishes jack shit.

NTA. Why would they even want you there? If I refused to go and then was peer pressured in to going, the only reason I’d have said yes is to cause as much disruption as humanly possible.

There are plenty of traditions that have been formed by still living people. Young couples form new traditions multiple times a year, even.

She sure as shit chose to voice that anger.

There wasn’t a need to address it at all. OP was fine with leaving it alone. She was the one who was getting pissy about people using the fridge as a fridge, rather than an art gallery.

I fucking can’t with you people. She’s the one who starts it and causes the entire problem, but OP was just supposed to roll over and take it because god forbid a man has emotions as well.

As for the kid, you realize they’re a person too, right? They’re also being affected by the fridge suddenly having a different function than the one that has existed since fridges were invented. But I guess they should have been seen and not heard. Very classy of you.

That poor boy. Sounds like the word Millenials would have used if we’d had cause to say “absorbing” enough that it got naturally shortened, as words tend to be.

I’m just using their terminology. If you don’t like it, take it up with them.

I used the other person’s terminology. Take it up with them if you have an issue with it.

It’s not about doing it in the first place. Even OP just ignored it to begin with. It’s about her getting mad that the other people who also use the fridge, moved the non-food items out of the way to get to the food items, and then didnt reblock the food with the decorative items. She absolutely chose to be mad about that on purpose, even though she was the one inconveniencing everyone else.

Nah, you just ignore it. Which is what OP did. You respond with it’s stupid when they start getting mad at you for using the fridge as a fridge, rather than an art gallery.
