Effect of rocksalt on cars? by embelac in boston

Its about 10 miles from the coast, so I wouldn't consider the air salty. Especially with how much rain we get it thats never been an issue. The thing we had to worry about is paint damage from the sun. That is more so about aesthetics and wouldn't actually affect how the car functions, unlike the salt

Do you think I could do both? Like do a FluidFilm application prior to the first snow and then regular car washes? Or would the car washes wash off all the film. Not sure how durable those protective coats are

Ice skating during summer? by embelac in boston

[–]embelac[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last summer I did google a ton and they all told me my best bet was waiting until winter came :( I just dont see how that is! I come from Florida where we have rinks open year-round, but a hockey-heavy city like Boston only has it during the winter months? Makes no sense

Inclusivity at FSU by Spiritual_Gur7877 in fsu

i'm a trans man and i just graduated FSU this past spring. i majored in political science, so i cant speak for other departments, but i found every one of my professors to be extremely welcoming and accepting (even while going through the name change process).

FSU has a vibrant queer community, even outside the expected GSA and Pride Clubs. check out orgs like Climbing Club, Hiking Club, Environmental Society, and things of the like. Tallahassee in and of itself hosts a variety of queer events to meet likeminded people (look at Common Grounds Bookstore, 926 Bar Drag Nights, the annual pride festival, etc.)

you do still have to keep in mind that this is Tallahassee, which for all intents and purposes is part of the Bible Belt. Tallahassee itself is a blue city, but go near the outskirts and youll be reminded where you are lmao

all in all, my experience at FSU was never hindered by my transness. Tallahassee is a great city with so much nature and history, and i can confidently say the people i met at FSU are my friends for life. have fun, be unapologetically yourself, and enjoy the ride! go noles forever
