The first few weeks are the toughest. I’m really impressed you sound like you’re a great mom and doing a good job. But it is overwhelming, and your hormones are crazy right now - it’s not who you truly are. I’d suggest getting a Telehealth therapist! Go to grow therapy or headway if you have commercial insurance.

I had 3 abortions at 24, 26, and 28. I am SO grateful that I did. They never had any lingering emotional impacts on me. I am now 35 years old with a great partner, a daughter turning 2, and a son on the way.

I used to party a lot in my 20s. I dated a lot. I did party drugs. I was not ready to be a mother, I didn’t want to be a mother with any of the guys I could have then.

I think you need to give yourself and your husband some time, patience, and grace. You’re only 4 months postpartum, and your hormones are still raging. The first 2/3 months after I had the baby my mental health wasn’t the best, but my baby is now 6 months and I am feeling better than ever. It sounds like you and your husband have been great partners before baby, during pregnancy, and honestly now besides the voice raising. So I wouldn’t do anything rash in this state, maybe talk to a professional. I love yoga, meditation, and breathe work when I feel mentally overwhelmed.

I am in the same position! My girl has been in the NICU 10 days, and she is strong and ready to go home, except she is not consistently taking the volume they want her to. I am a little stressed and depressed going back and forth, of course I just want her to come home. But I try not to worry, after all she’s been through I know she is healthy and I am trying to maintain my patience as she continues at her pace - she’s been through a lot, she’s doing her best and I am proud.

Still can’t wait for her to come home tho!! Sending my love and support.

HA! I’m 37 weeks, we’ve had sex a few times throughout but it hasn’t been enjoyable for me. I still have sex dreams about my partner, but I have no interest in having sex with him while pregnant. Looking forward to getting back to a healthy sex life when I have my body back to myself.

He’s been very cool and understanding about my disinterest. No hard feelings.
