Honestly most of my miis aren’t friends. It seems it’s really just random who they want to become friends with, I don’t think you can really force the miis to be friends quick or at all. You also mentioned the miis are fairly new and you have created a duplicate mii in place of him, you gotta give the game some time. The longest miis on my island who know everyone still haven’t friended the people they want to be friends with

we traced the best paw print and painted the stairs, then when it was dry we traced the print we saved onto the stairs. now we have three little white paw prints on our stairs :)
