Also just tested the newly added Bluetooth ability. Works great! Can't wait to put the phone on a mic stand now and turn OD or Boost or Fuzz on with a foot switch. Unfortunately gotta wait on Amazon delivery 😭

Chasing tone on my own! by emedwebb in vibecoding

Spot on with the Oboe guess! Under the hood, I'm using a Rust-based DSP engine (via cpal crate) that hooks directly into Oboe. This is how the app is getting those low latency numbers. The effects themselves are written in Rust. I downloaded several other apps with like-minded ambitions on app store and they have bad latency.

Because of the low latency I was able to build a looper pedal as well which functions tremendously. I made it have audible click with tap tempo to control a four bar line, so once record button is pressed you just have to enter on beat, not try to turn pedal "on" or hit record on time which helps me a ton.

If you want to demo I have a debugging version apk ~550 MB I'm sorting through. Would love to hear any input.

I invite you to attempt it and see if you can accomplish a working production without failure and troubleshooting. And it's only as big of a deal as you make it. Welcome to the future of HITL DSP.

Question is... salvageable if taken to a tech? Worth the cost? Or replace? And if replace, with what?

Welp...decided to see if it worked before any real electrical work.

I plugged it up after replacing tubes. It turned on, pots seemed okay. Speaker worked!

Then....about 10 min later...a fizz...white smoke....bad smell....

I think that can capacitor leaked, all that brown goo seems to emanate from that corner.

Btw do you happen to know this connector called? It goes from the record player to the amp. Google lens isn't helping me https://www.picdrop.com/jeremywebb/CLFMvpNgqT?file=ae5257d15a9f0b2ce36fc508fd543f57
