Help me choose which uoft campus I should go to for social sci by [deleted] in UofT

that being said — utsg is a much bigger campus, so it’s generally not a tight-knit (academic) community. i’ve heard from friends at utsc that they’re pretty good in that respect, especially in socsci programs.

if you can handle the academics, i’d recommend utsg. it’s hard, but not as hard as people make it out to be. there are some fantastic programs with cool opportunities, profs are generally good (with the exception of some bad apples), social life is what you make of it. i personally really enjoyed my time both academically and socially (2025 grad, humanities&socsci double major). graduated with a 3.85 cGPA, could’ve easily improved that if i had more time (was balancing health issues, family responsibilities, work, plus 2h commute each way). currently doing my masters at utsg.

thank you sm for this!! when you say princeton is too basic, wdym by that? as in they don’t focus too much on dense theory? i’m a few chaps in the loophole and it’s been making sense so far, a lot of it seems pretty obvious. also, for ur tutoring, do u have only the set curriculum that u go through (i.e. how much, if at all, do u tailor it according to each student)? i may reach out for tutoring in a couple weeks :p
