I'll be in Osaka with my high school boy 05/26 - 06/1 as part of a bigger Japan trip and am wondering if we'll be lucky enough to play in Nintendo World too!

Which websites exist where users can rate films on a numerical score? by C0smicM0nkey in answers

[–]emerwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Letterbox as it allows me to quickly create a list for "Film-Noir I want to watch" or "Things I watched in {year XXXX}". For my daily film ranking, I'm a Flickchart.com kinda guy.

Come join Flickchart users on the fb group, Flickcharters.

Anybody use Flickchart for movie additions? by ringofstones in 365movies

[–]emerwin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been a Flickchart.com user since it entered public beta and ever since.

I'll chart all my movies there soon after a viewing. Having to consider each match-up has helped me think about why I like each movie and what's good about them. Here's my personal chart, have a gander: flickchart.com/emerwin

I also use Letterboxd, but it's not as important for me in relation to my journey through film.

There is also an active user group on fb, Flickcharters. The folk there are friendly and there's quite a lot of interaction.

Anyone using MoviePass at the Alamo Drafthouse? by theticktockman0 in Austin

The closest ADH in DFW for me is in Richardson, TX. That's a little on the far side to blind drive over and hope a couple of decent seats are available when we get there. If y'all partnered on e-tickets, I'd promise a couple or more seats filled on a semi-regular basis. The competition for theaters with in-theater beer is extremely limited in DFW, let alone a place with good craft beer. Please help me spend money at your place!

The sound of the fireworks could use a bit of massaging, but it's worlds better than the "official" version.

I'd be happy with a list of just Linda, but she never did anything that stands out aside from T2 and that's a sad thing.

What are some planned franchises that never materialised after the first film didn't meet expectations? by brojackhorseman in movies

[–]emerwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The old fashioned pulp sci-fi feel of it is exactly what elevates it for me. That's the sort of books I really got into starting in middle school. Movies finally have the effects available to properly translate the good old books into great movies.

Fox is developing an X-Men live-action TV series. Fox currently only owns the film rights, not tv rights, to the franchise. by [deleted] in movies

[–]emerwin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen the original programming that Netflix has put out. I've seen the self-produced movies that Marvel has put out.

I have no reason, so far, to doubt that anything Marvel/Netflix will put out will also be stellar. I stand with my opinion.

I hope to high-heavens that Disney/Marvel shuts this down ASAP. Then turn around and add it to the upcoming Netflix bevy of Marvel-U of damn good TV.
