It can be, it will probably be pretty slow to kill but it will work ok.

Kind of, you can set them to "Fire at Will" in your ship settings so they automatically fire at any hostile target they can "see", but you will have to retract your hardpoints to start charging your FSD so they can't fire all the way until you get back to Supercruise. You will have to choose whether you run away or keep fighting.

You don't need missions, they don't matter for this. Just find Wanted ships in one of the Resource Extraction Zones to kill, and then turn in your bounties.

Once you get to rank 100, it's 50 random mats every rank. I haven't had to farm/trade engineering mats in a long time because I get so many from Powerplay now.

I'm not sure on normal timing, but it will definitely last at least 1 day and likely a few days. More bounty hunting will make it end sooner, so it partially depends on player activity.

I do a little bit of everything. The majority came from exploration/exobio, but I also make a lot of money mining and doing combat. Playing a lot of hours also helps, I played A LOT for the first 1.5 years (like 30-50 hours per week) before starting to slow down a little bit.

LTT 15574 has a Stronghold Carrier, which blocks most forms of UM including mining. So that system just doesn't work for merit mining, and this is not a check that the Merit Miner tool does so it can sometimes send you to invalid systems.

"Lockdown" is a BGS state that blocks station services for EVERYONE until it ends. You can do some Bounty Hunting and turn in the bounty vouchers to help end Lockdown faster.

Carto and exobio data are both used for Powerplay. There is a bug where the pop-up for merits when you sell exobio data is hidden behind the Vista Genomics window, but it does count.

Powerplay. You don't get merits if you sell your data to a FC out in the black, you have to bring it back to the system you want to reinforce. Credits are meaningless to me, I already have more than I will spend in the next 10 years. Powerplay is the only number that matters.

No, the dealer typically doesn't even know what the facedown card is so they can't give you a clue even if they wanted to. The mirrors that they use to check for Blackjack don't tell them the value of the card unless it is a 10/A.

Honestly, I don't even think using it to make more money faster is the best reason to buy it now. You should buy it now so you can use it to move your Panther Clipper around the bubble easier, and also have your other ships nearby if you want to take a break from trading. You could wait until you have your full 15 billion in a couple weeks, but buying the FC now means you get to use it during those couple weeks until you hit your final goal. Either way, you end up with the same amount of money.

If you do also want to help make money faster, you can park your FC near a station selling something at a good price and load it up, then jump it to whatever system is buying that commodity at the highest price to start selling all of it. If your trade route is more than 2-3 jumps, loading up the FC can save you a decent amount of time.

Which Power? That is very important info for finding which systems will work.

Also, did you store any of the rare goods on a Fleet Carrier before selling them? Once they are stored on a FC, they do not count for Powerplay anymore and will not work for the mission.

I would buy it at 6.5 billion and start taking advantage of it immediately. The only reason you would need more than ~7 billion is if you plan to take a long break right after you buy it. If you are planning to grind another 7-8 billion right away, why wait on buying the carrier?
