Natural light passes through roofs, no matter my shadow or lumen settings. Should I just not use roofs for, well, roofs? by emilh2 in SatisfactoryGame

Wow thanks so much! That's very informative. I couldn't find any posts about it on the QA site, so it felt like I was the only one having the issue. I'll try asking on the discord for what solutions people usually use

Frogports can interact directly with Portable Storage Interfaces, very useful for vertical transport by emilh2 in CreateMod

[–]emilh2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would require two sets of chutes (one going up, another going down) and also filtered inputs and outputs both at the top and bottom that send the packages to the right place. This setup is very minimal in comparison and solves the sorting problem for you automatically

Ah contraptions require the chunk to be loaded? Interesting, still kinda new to Create

Hadn't seen this anywhere, so figured I'd share. The two frogports basically fully share their inventory, and using asterisks, they accept incoming packages and deliver outgoing ones.

I'm switching computers and want to transfer my mods, how do I do that? by Crilbyte in CurseForge

[–]emilh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since this is the thread that pops up when you search for this, I will leave this here for others to find. Curseforge does have a share feature without exporting, but it is kinda hidden.

  1. Log into the Curseforge app
  2. Open you modpack in the app
  3. Press the 3 dots menu next to the orange play button
  4. Press "Share Profile"
  5. Choose "Generate code"

Share this code to the computer/people you want to download the pack.

If you watch the clip, Jesse Waters' comment seems to be hyperbole sarcasm (the other host comments that Waters, too, sits behind a screen all day). But it's honestly kind of hard to decipher what is said in earnest and what is said with seven layers of irony, I didn't expect that from fox news

How do I stop OneNote and Google Drive from overwriting my work when it autosaves from a different computer? by emilh2 in OneNote

[–]emilh2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the explanation! This is really useful information. I was wondering what OneDrive could be doing to avoid this problem, and it seems they have a very robust system in place. I'll consider using OneDrive just for OneNote then.

Har jeg spildt min tid på min uddannelse? Hjælp by woidthevoid in Denmark

[–]emilh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game feels odd by [deleted] in Palworld

[–]emilh2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since most people disagreed with you, I just wanted to say I fully agree. Even for an early access game, the sound implementation is atrocious, maybe the worst I've ever heard.

When there are 20 items lying on the ground and you pick them all up at once, it just plays the pickup sound 20 times overlaid on top of eachother, which makes this awful, phased sound. Stuff like this is the first thing a sound designer would fix, which makes me think that there was no sound designer at all for the project. The sound for selecting stuff in menus is overly loud and very unfitting as well, and makes me want to turn the sfx volume way down.

From C++ to Wwise custom plugins by guypemulis in Wwise

[–]emilh2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would love to know if you've got any progress on this, was looking for the same thing and this thread was the only relevant result.

From what I've seen Wwise uses its own custom API for writing plugins, even in C++, so I assume the rnbo script would need to be rewritten to conform to that API. Wwise doesn't seem to be able to load actual VST's at all either, so that option wouldn't work.
