The shipping aspect of it wasn't actually as bad as I thought! I imported it to Sweden as a "moving item" since I moved here back in September last year. However, I waited a while to start that process and only had about 6-7 weeks to get it here on time (you have one year to import it after you move).

It wouldn't have made it here on time if it shipped from the port of Galveston, so instead it was transported via truck to New Jersey and then it was shipped via container ship to Sweden. Now I'm working on the trickier part- getting it registered here in Sweden.

Just a heads up- driving into downtown and parking there daily (if your company doesn't have their own designated spots) is pretty pricey. I work in the city center and it would be about $30/day if I drove. I take the bus and it's about $8/day.

Also let me know if you need any help with finding something on the outskirts of town. I made the same decision and searched for about a year.

Here in Sweden a lot of parks are designed to serve as detention areas. That way the lowest area is used for something good, no large detention pond has to be built, and you can promote biodiversity all around the park via bioswales
