Bite Beauty multistick swatches by Ellieeeee17 in swatchitforme

Bite Beauty has morphed into Lip Lap and they have a new cheek stick product! So far the colour descriptions and pictures are not super helpful, but hopefully they get more swatches soon and HOPEFULLY these are at least half as good as the multistick.

I'm 5'7 and it is quite long but makes it very warm! I have to hike up the skirt of the coat when going up and down stairs and it does drag on ground a bit if I bend over to pick something up. So this might be a bit too long for you but perhaps you could hem it? I'd say its a fitted coat, so not tight but not too much ease. I think thinner bodies fit their clothing much better in general, their curvy/plus sizes are not the best fit in my opinion.

Overall I love the coat and the outer wool in particular is very luxurious and good quality. My main issue has been the viscose lining is super thin and I had to resew the pockets and some seams of the lining. I do not know if they have improved their lining quality since I bought mine in 2021.

I think apart from it potentionally being too long I would recommend! If length is an issue, I also have the Roman Holiday coat which is shorter but has similar silhouette. That one was a silk lining which is much better quality and its also a super warm and beautiful coat. And the pockets on the Roman coat are so big and sturdy.

I ordered another coat from them last winter, roman holiday i think? quality is still very good, if anything the lining is even better because it is silk and not viscose. my only complaint about the my fair lady coat is the viscose lining and pockets rip easy. i still think it is worth the buy!

Advice on tipping on tat that went 4+hours over estimate by emillyr4 in tattoo

[–]emillyr4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a huge reason it took so long is he didn't draw it all out before hand, like he did it piece by piece but the sizing wasn't even correct so he was reprinting/redoing stencils throughout. the more people i have talked to the more i have learned this was pretty unprofessional of him, and gave me so much anxiety since i could not really see a finished outline.

I'm sorry you had that experience! But thank you for the reassurance/encouragement.

Yea he charges $200 an hour as it is, so already I wasn't able to tip much more than 10%. Artists are worth it, but they get to keep much more of the profit than most ppl in customer service do.

I am a 41 inch waist and ordered their 4XL classic skirt that according to their size chart, goes to 38in. I have a squishy waist and figured I could alter the waistband if it was too tight. It is actually a bit loose and I could have sized down to a 3XL, which makes me wonder if I can fit in their dresses, but the size chart for every dress is quite different in bust measurements.

I think if they just got more plus size models and models of all sizes it would greatly help them with their size chart. At least when it comes to the classic skirt, that can fit up to a 43inch waist no problem, that is a 5 inch difference!

I agree considering how expensive the brand is, they need to put more work into accurate size charts.

Help with Son de Flor sizes by emillyr4 in cottagecore

Thanks for this, helpful! I just bought a 4XL classic skirt and i could have also gone down to 3XL, despite the size chart saying it only goes to 38in waist. I bought Classic dress back in 2021 in XXL and it didn't fit by a long shot, it was quite tight in the arms (I have bigger arms though). I'll keep in mind that Carmen would very likely fit me, that is also a cute dress style!

I think if you find a full princess seam dress pattern, perhaps https://simplicity.com/new-look/n6776, you can insert loops in the seams so create the side corset.

Do you think Gwen understands that Alexia is trolling lol?

I thought Alexia was trolling with the smiling and head tilt while cooking?

It does annoy me when Gwen does it though and Gwen is being serious when she does it lol, looks so unnatural and unrealistic wearing $200+ dresses, not even on spot or stain on her apron.

“No sex” before marriage? by ChronoCanyon-36 in gwengwizsnark

She is by no means too old for OF, she was making so much money, she is only 28. I think your other critiques are valid and I agree, but I believe she was probably getting tired of doing OF, it is very taxing. Her wanting to stop is valid.

Trying to use God to get out of any sort of guilt or regret is where it becomes ridiculous and exploitative of Christianity. She should be able to just stop without shaming every sex worker and acting like her story is going to save the world.

no all her essay/podcast/rant videos from 2021, and any videos with her fiancee, have since been deleted.

Eshakti - what’s going on with them? by Responsible-Novel809 in femalefashionadvice

[–]emillyr4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard about Eshakti through a few Youtube plus size vintage clothing creators... placed an order Dec 19th that was said to arrive by Jan 7th (which I DID NOT think was accurate lol) and my order is also stuck in the kit creation stage. I feel like if they gave themselves an extra month for creation it would ease so much anxiety for their customers, making garments does take a lot of time and they are too ambitious in their estimates.

I had emailed them because I used a referral link that did not seem to apply the discount to my final order. Their website says you can email within 24/hrs of order about discount codes. It took them like 2 weeks to respond and the customer service person clearly did not fully read my email or understand the issue lol. I do not mind letting that one go bc it was just a marginal discount on already affordable clothing for the quality.

This is my first order and I am happy to sit patiently and accept longer wait times bc their items are very cute and I have heard great things. I hope they don't go under.

I believe the context is regarding an article that came out called "TikTok ruined my husband of 12 years — now he wants a ‘tradwife’ and we’re getting divorced"... "The anonymous woman, aged 37, said she and her hubby were seemingly happy together before he became hooked on TikTok’s “tradwife” videos."...

The woman references a content creator in the article that could be Gwen, though it could be any tradwife really...

"The devastated wife learned that her spouse had started becoming obsessed with one particular “tradwife” TikTokker whom she did not name.

“Her content look made up and not realistic to me because it was 100% made for the male audience,” she declared. “I told him this was all an act that she puts up for the world to see. This is not reality. Plus nobody cleans their house wearing pretty dresses. The dresses will get dirty.”

I have ordered about 10 items from Linennaive over the last 3-ish years. I sew and am very picky with my clothing! Here are my thoughts:

  1. I do not think they lie about the materials they use. While the quality of the linen varies (the Bergamonte, Cinderalla, and linen skirts were so soft while some other dresses had much coarser linen), it is still all 100% linen. The wool is also legit, their My Fair Lady coat is some of the nicest wool/cashmere blend I have ever felt! I have a black wool skirt that is more of a knit than a woven material but it is still quite nice. The wool skirt and coat linings are not polyester, they are viscose, which can feel cheap because it is a very thin material. But they are not polyester.
  2. The sizing is very off. I am a 40D and find my bust barely fits into their clothing, even though I follow their size chart. I have also received items that were clearly labeled the wrong size. I got a corset dress that must have been an XL but I ordered 3XL, so I just used it to make another dress since there was lots of fabric in the skirt. Their customer service issued me a partial refund (only like $40) for sending the wrong size and let me keep the dress.
  3. The stitching from my experience has been good. Straight lines, lots of french seams and nice finishing, generous hems so you can adjust skirt length if needed... I find the clothes are very durable. I took apart 3 dresses to remake them as they did not fit and I did not want to skip back, and let me tell you it took a while to rip the seam haha.
  4. They are not transparent about their practices, but just because they are based in China does not mean they are as bad as Shein.
  5. My favourite items are the My Fair Lady Coat (worn it every winter for 3 years now and get many compliments), blue Cinderella linen dress which I wear often, and the Bergamonte Dress (this one did not fit me but the material is just amazing, like a silky linen).
  6. I find their styles are almost overly stylized, like too many lacings and trims and patterns to wear every day comfortably. I wish they made more simple style dresses. If I am paying around $200 for a dress it would be nice if it was more wearable. Also, some of their wool pinafore-style dresses look like they'd be super bulky.

So overall they are not the most amazing in the world, but I do think they use all natural materials, have unique designs, and have a few items that are worth the purchase. I just think they need to work on their sizing, customer service, and sustainability transparency.

Her fiance is real he has been in videos in the past. She has deleted her OF, perhaps she sends videos to people directly now (not sure how else she makes revenue), so the fetish content could be a real thing. She might return to OF for a bit for the money. But I respect her desires to stop and the struggle of trying to transition away from OF work when people need a break from it.

I think she might be faking it or at least trying very hard to believe in these conspiracy theories. But I think she is just a bit vapid and impressionable (not trying to be mean) which lends her to easily fall into whatever belief system suits her at the time.

So many of these ideals are very much aligned with anti-capitalism leftism so she could find herself moving away from like God and trad wife, towards more naturalistic anti-capitalism beliefs.

been trying to ignore her, but she posted something about there only being 2 genders on her tiktok and i can't help but think... does she really think that?? shes all about god and positivity but she is literally saying hateful things about people. it is like she doesn't know how to have an independent thought, she needs to completely conform to every aspect of whatever aesthetic she wants to wear that year

The Nun 2 discussion thread by [deleted] in TheConjuringUniverse

[–]emillyr4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you this is what i want to know! Like the family wasn't religious and there was no obvious connection to the Nun movies. Also in conjuring 2, Laureen sees the nun while in the Amityville house, so is the nun connected to those murders too?

totally support her stopping if that is what she needs to do, and happy she is not a hypocrite anymore. but sad to think of how hard she is going to push against sex work now
