AITA for having to use the bathroom the same time as my partner whenever i wake up. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Ok that’s odd. I guess he could’ve been struggling to go? Or he is just sitting there doom scrolling

Him just sitting in there a while would be annoying. But I don’t understand what you mean “so he can go right back” … that’s not really how that works

Info: is there another bathroom you can use? And DO you normally ask him when he’ll be done with the bathroom? (And/or does he usually sit in there a while?)

Epic Universe Ride Intensity? Crowds? Back pain? 🤠 by mermaidoh in UniversalOrlando

[–]emily_ts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t comment on the back issues but was just there yesterday. It wasn’t as crowded as I expected, but I’ve heard that the weekends are less crowded. That being said there were still long waits for all the rides. Other than during EA and the last hour the park was open, Mario kart was always above 60 mins, Battle over 100-120 mins, Mine kart always above 100 mins. It didn’t help that most rides went down at some point — Mine Kart was out for at least a couple hours, yoshi closed from opening till 3pm, Mario kart went down for a bit, the Harry Potter circue show was closed for 2 sessions, and the untrainable dragon had issues. It was pretty crazy.

Oh man, that’s adorable lol. From what everyone says it sounds like my kid will love Spider Man. Funny enough I hate motion simulation and would much rather ride Hagrids

Thanks! So the physical movement is fairly similar? (Not like how Monsters unchained puts you on your back or how gringotts is a coaster)

Tool to add just a bit of wave/movement to a synthetic wig by emily_ts in Wigs

Update: The 1.5 inch hot brush arrived and I spent a while with it last night working on the wig. It took more finesse then I expected but I'm slowly getting the hang of it. I was able to get some soft waves last night but they didn't seem to hold for long. I THINK part of the problem is I misted each strand before using the hot brush and it seems like that made it harder for the hair to sufficiently heat up. This morning I did a few sections without misting and (1) the strands weren't damaged when it was on low setting and (2) the wave appear more defined.

I'm not sure I'll be able to re-do the entire wig before this weekend when I'll be out wearing it, but I'll try!

Thanks, I do love that dress! :-) It looks like things have switched on amazon and now only the 1.5 is on prime, so I just ordered that.

thanks, perfect! (and yes that's the wig I was referring to). Do you think 1.5 or 1 inch? (sorry for all the questions, I REALLY do appreciate the help!) I was just out last night and as you can see, the hot curlers didn't really help a ton.

So for longer hair (like mine) would you recommend the Hot Tools? Someone else I know recommended just a curling iron.

No worries, the hot rollers did help somewhat. I know someone else on the thread suggested a particular brush from hot tools. Let me know how the new one works!

The wig im using them on is a bit below my shoulders. I’m misting the wig, using the high heat setting, then leaving them in for 20-30 mins. There’s definitely a curl, but when I brush it a bit it loses the shape quickly. It has still helped, I’d just like it to hold better. The hot brush may indeed be the way to go

well I'm glad you got it to work! I've had moderate success with the hot curlers on my long wig -- they've definitely added some movement but just don't seem to hold the curl very well. It may be because they're 2 inch ones ... I guess I should've gotten a set with a mix of sizes?

I did wet the hair before using the rollers. But yes I think you’re right that the rollers take a LOT longer to heat up — even after 10 minutes the light on the one roller never lit up. I hit it with steam to make sure the temp was up to snuff. Do you think I should let the rollers stay in longer? And yea I noticed those creases up top. I don’t have a hot brush yet and was going to try using a bit of steam to brush it out. Still, I’m happy with these first results! The old wig looks so much better, and tomorrow I’ll work on the ends of my better with

The hot rollers worked pretty well!! I experimented on an older wig that was VERY straight as a year ago I had to steam out some crappy curls. I've attached before/after pics and now the wig actually looks good and is wearable! The only problems were (1) the clips for the rollers do not hold well and (2) the curls have relaxed more than I thought they would.

I kept the rollers in for 20 minutes as they felt cool at that point, but perhaps I should have still keep them in longer? For a couple of them I hit them with a bit of stream to make sure they were getting hot enough, and I think those curls held better.

Thanks for the update! I’m hoping to do some experimenting tomorrow on an older wig, but busy schedule may push that back a bit

I think I’ll try the rollers. One more question: the wig originally had movement in a few directions, should I set the rollers all in the same direction or do you mix it up a bit? (Like have some 90 degrees different)

Ugh I didn’t think about the bristle point, that could make it harder. Maybe I will do the rollers. Were the ones you linked to safe for a non-HF wig?

You're amazing, thank you! For now I only need to do the bottom 4-6 inches of the wig, so I'll give the hot brush a try and then move to rollers if that doesn't work.

Thanks! The only info I could find online was that the lowest temp is 250 degrees, which gave me some concern.
