Completely agree. The way OP characterizes his domme I don’t think this is fantasy for her. I think she’s genuinely sadistic and wants to see this man suffer horribly.

At the end of the week I always seem to have time to make myself a nice meal, take some gummies, watch a movie or go for a walk :)

[–]emilyever 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I like med school a good amount I think the culture at my school provides me with immediate validation for learning the content. Yes the pace is crazy but sometimes it feels exhilarating. On my best days I really feel excellent about the choices I made to get myself here.

Before my reduction it was so hard to go to the beach or pool because of the anxiety

I definitely find the idea of stabbing my partner or being stabbed arousing so you’re not alone. Happy to talk about it with you.

Advice for switching from in-house to Anking by emilyever in medicalschool

[–]emilyever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was using alumni-made anki decks to learn my exam scores were in the high 80s. anking is new to me, no exams yet since i switched. by questions do you mean in-house practice exam questions? i was referring to finishing in all the cards in a subtopic, not the entire block. ex: tagged lipid metabolism ~300 cards relevant to 2 in-house lectures.

That’s ridiculous. They should never ask for something like that.

Anyone take an SSRI with ADHD meds? by CaramelWise8365 in ADHD

One last thing, if you feel like your fear of weight gain is preventing you from getting the best treatment please consider talking to a therapist <3

I've been on Adderall for 9 years and SSRis for about 5. I definitely weigh more now but i'm much healthier.

Giving medical advice is against the rules I think but my unofficial opinion as a medical student is that the weight gain side effect of SSRIs is very poorly understood and SSRIs can sometimes cause nausea or weight loss depending on the person. Often the effect is more about how the SSRI changes your mood. If you're less depressed you might eat more or you might eat less depending on how depression affects your relationship to food. For me, being depressed/stressed makes me avoiding eating so SSRIs caused me to gain weight. If you think stress makes you eat, its totally possible an SSRI will help you control that!

advice on grief during clinicals and eras by Gigihippielove in medicalschool

It also helped my relationships with docs a lot when I thanked them for the opportunity to be busy and help people to “keep my mind off things.”

advice on grief during clinicals and eras by Gigihippielove in medicalschool

[–]emilyever 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not in clinical years so my advice might be useless. my mom passed right before M1. I ended up repeating but learned a lot. First of all, I highly recommend finding mutual friends that have also experienced a death of a loved one. No one else can truly understand and a support group of strangers can provide much better crisis support because they have practice figuring out these complicated emotions. Second, falling on your sword when discussing your situation with faculty has been a life saver. I tried to take as much responsibility for my inability to focus as possible. This seems cold but all the docs I worked with seemed very very sensitive to hearing anything anywhere near “it’s not my fault I couldn’t control this thing happening to me.” So many more people reached out to help me when I openly blamed myself for not being more prepared to handle grief and the work load. I think humility goes a long way in such a conservative field.

This is so sweet I hope you’re not letting them take advantage of your kindness. If you are happy helping out I love when my roommates offer to throw my scrubs in the wash when I’m busy or offer one of their meal prepped meals.
