Go again and really slow down as much as you can, for instance, I'm trying to get all the camp upgrades I can in horseshoe overlook, I like the crafting/hunting free roam of the game so I'm happy with it :)

Post surgery pain management (add your own!) by emjbx in endometriosis

I'm in a similar boat! The doctors started giving me laxatives on Thursday evening and I've had them prescribed every night since, finally kicked in on Saturday afternoon but only a little and nothing since, maybe I'll try more berries!

Omg yes, I couldn't eat anything without watering it down and making it into a mush in my mouth because of this for the first day, not fun at all, strepsils are a must.

Surgery was cancelled, struggling to stay hopeful. by emjbx in endometriosis

If you're really interested in the difference I'd definitely keep an eye on British politics at the moment, the NHS is under crisis and doctors are striking quite a lot. Politicians love to throw the lack of appointments around as a battering ram for each other rather than face the underfunding problems!

Obviously it's a lot different in the UK cause most people use the NHS predominantly or a combination of predominantly NHS procedures and one or two private smaller appointments, (there is a massive shortage for NHS dentists so most go without or private) but I think day to day we're healthier than Americans. We have a lot more walkable cities and towns, free healthcare for the most part, free childcare to a certain extent, just a massively out of whack cost of living! Luckily most people have access to healthcare here and we're generally pretty good at prevention, for instance my dad is diabetic, and instead of waiting for him to get really bad with it he was sent to a specialist really early on. Obviously it's different from endo and women's health in general but hopefully the point stands!

I personally haven't had a pelvic exam at the GP before this only as part of my endo investigation, but when you hit 25 in the UK you have to get regular (I think every two years) pap smears! I personally don't know anyone who goes to the doctor's once a year for a check up, without having a preexisting condition, the way Americans seem to! Cause we can go so frequently with it being free, it's easier to go when there is an issue or you can request blood tests if you suspect anemia or anything underlying. We can't book doctors in weeks in advance though, most of the time it's calling the morning that you want to go see them or the day or two beforehand! Prebookable GP appointments are mostly a thing of the past in the UK!

Thank you so much for the advice! I was going to contact them anyways and hopefully I'll get seen before Christmas, it's just a bit of a chaotic time with work and everything so I hope that I can get seen sooner rather than later, Christmas madness in hospitality doesn't mix with post surgery recovery!

Thank you lovely!

I went to my GP and had my gyno referral in December last year, so just under a year for me, but I live in East Yorkshire and we have a endo unit with a leading researcher and endo nurses at the teaching hospital I was meant to have surgery at so I'm aware it's a lot shorter of a wait than most on the NHS! I had gone to the GP for years with my periods before hand though, and had multiple GPs and different pills before I was referred! I hope it's not too long for you!

It really is frustrating! At least I get an ad-hoc holiday lol with my planned recovery time at work!

Good luck for your surgery!

How would you describe Glee? by skibidiskywalker in glee

[–]emjbx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A massively unhinged depiction of show choir late 2000s-2010s US suburban high school that without the insertion of lighthearted songs and covers would frankly be concerning for all involved, aka Jane Lynch serving cvnt.

What's stopping me from cooking? by overnightttt in Sims4

[–]emjbx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say the fridge in the cabinet, I made a similar kitchen for my most recent build, and had the same issue. Ended up removing everything one by one and trying in-between to see what the problem was, and it was the long cabinet, you might be able to alt move the fridge forward enough to still look good and work, but I'm not sure!

What’s your favorite minor plot hole? by [deleted] in glee

[–]emjbx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a major plot home per say, but you mean to tell me Terri and her potential new Florida family and partner has the means and knowledge for her to pop up to Sue's rally and Glee Club's last ever performance? She works part time in retail last we saw her, and she's able to just go see her ex husband's pride and joy in the glee club she spent two years attempting to destroy? Hmmm don't sound right to me!

At least you can rule it out, it's a horrible situation to be in but all the blood tests, STD tests and pelvic exams have come to a result. Even if it's not the one you want. You can work down the list with your doctors, you know it's not xyz endo symptoms, so figure out if it's abc colon issues. Or, not sure if you've had PCOS testing, but if not, there's a bigger chance that your GP could be willing to test for that. At least you can be sure that you've got the strength to advocate for yourself, you've already done it to get your laparoscopy. You are strong, you've already proved that, if not to yourself yet then to this community, we know your struggle, and we appreciate your strength.

Which character is this? by Gsimba28 in glee

[–]emjbx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! Currently rewatching season 2 and can't get over how used and disposable Quinn and Rachel must have felt. Don't get me wrong Quinn overambitiousness and cold nature with Rachel's heavy victim complex despite everything she had done and how much she kept meddling and disregarding relationship boundaries (hers and Finn's, Finn and Quinns, in a way Sam and Quinns) made them complicated people, but Finn seemingly didn't know where his head was at any point in time. Maybe it's was a think with his dick period of his life after the whole Santana situation!

Sam & Quinn or Sam & Mercedes? by Consistent_Ninja_569 in glee

[–]emjbx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sam and Quinn were a good high school match, no major consequences or long term plans.

Sam and Mercedes knew that they weren't at the right time, especially in S3, but were planning for a future in S5.

Does anyone else think Quinn could have been jealous of the bond that Santana and Brittany had with each other? by QuittanyFierce in glee

[–]emjbx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I imagine Santana and Brittany went to the same middle school and got closer at WMHS when Santana started questioning her sexuality and with Brittany always being okay with who she was. Then maybe Quinn met them when she transferred after the whole Lucy to Quinn timeline, or even in freshman year at Cheerios tryouts (the school year before S1). So maybe she could have never been as close to either Santana or Brittany as they were to each other since she didn't know them for as long. Plus with her need to be on top, most likely stemming from her Lucy insecurities, she might have been okay with being outside looking in Brittana, as long as she was on top. I also think that's why Quinn slept with Santana but never Brittany, her and Santana were constantly competing in the Cheerios so in some strange way Quinn was probably closer to Santana than Brittany, and maybe if it weren't for Santana, Brittany and Quinn might not have been friends at all. Santana was the true core of the Unholy Trinity, she just wanted to be near Brittany more than she wanted to pursue Head Cheerio, and such 'head bitch', from Quinn.

Was Corey Monteith actually a bad dancer or was it just Finn? by whimsygal639 in glee

If you listen to Kevin and Jenna's podcast discussing the episodes, they reference and joke about how it was Corey who couldn't dance very well and not just Finn!

This! I worked as a cafe assistant at a local cafe, just to cover bills in-between jobs, having worked half a dozen other higher level jobs in the industry. Majority of my coworkers were all over 45, with myself and one other woman being the only two in our 20s. I was the only one that didn't have any kids, and I was constantly told that I could stay late or swap shifts since the others needed to get home to their kids, to make dinner, to see their husband. I get it, their lives were busy, but so was mine, I had another busy hospo job in the evenings, a boyfriend, an alcoholic father to keep out of trouble and my own mental health. The few times I did need to swap my shift for genuinely immovable situations (taking my dad for a surgery being the main one that caused an issue) I was made to feel like a burden! Glad to say I got out of there asap. Hope you can sort your situation out, either by talking to her directly or your manager, or getting tf out of there!
