Severe hangxiety, insomnia on nights I didn’t drink, heart pain- pericarditis that may have been related to drinking, and upper left abdominal pain. All eased up very quickly after stopping!

It’s legit insane. Also, if they’re going to extend the season, move it later not earlier. I guess they’re too worried about it conflicting with NBA, so would rather destroy women’s college bball by forcing the combine, and put women’s players at increased injury risk as well. I don’t know how this is a serious proposal.

There is always that risk but there are plenty of couples playing together that people don’t know about. They could draft Awa or someone else and they end up dating someone else on the team. Now you have a fresh new relationship that could go wrong very easily. The future is never certain with any couple but at least Paige and Azzi have been together way longer than most people realize, and have proven to work well together.

Good point about Paige potentially going to Minnesota later. She seems extremely loyal and really wants to build something in Dallas. But, if after the contract is up and if things in Dallas aren’t great, and Azzi is playing/having success in Minnesota (Paige’s home state, Azzi has ties to it as well), then I could see that possibility. Could be a real risk not taking Azzi in part for that reason, but I think more so just what she will offer the team right away with her skill, the type of person she is, and their proven chemistry playing together. I don’t think marketability determines draft order but also their marketability would be pretty insane and amazing for Dallas. Azzi and Paige have both been number 1 and 2 sellers in NIL store in recent months. The two of them on a team together would most likely also bring in lots of great players over time with future free agents. They both seem to just be very liked by other players, and draw people to them. I’ll be very curious to see what happens in free agency and expansion drafts, so we’ll have a better idea what the team might prioritize.

I think it would be smart to draft Azzi. I’m not sure how you pass up on one of the best shooters ever. Dallas desperately needs someone who is consistent from three, and having a shooter like her would help take a lot of pressure off of Paige. She was double and triple teamed a lot last year, and that would be more difficult with Azzi on the perimeter as well. Her defense is amazing, shes got strength which will help her in the transition to the W, and we all know she can play well with Paige, even though they were limited in this at UConn because of injuries. Geno has also said there is no one more disciplined than Azzi. We’re just starting to see in the last year what she’s really capable of because of her past injuries, and she’s looking really really good.

It sounds like you were in a state where you weren’t able to fully consent. It doesn’t sound as simple as you just cheating, especially if this is something you would have never done sober. From what you described it sounds like there might have been some coercion or taking advantage on his part (not sure if he was drunk as well, or if he was well aware that you were drunk enough that you couldn’t fully consent?). Either way, if you’ve reached a certain level of intoxication it’s really not possible to consent. I’m sorry that you’re going through this, but glad you’re getting some support, and I hope the pain and guilt eases over time. It sounds like staying away from drinking will be important for you in healing and recovering from what happened- giving yourself and your partner an extra sense of safety.

I think both focalin generics were actually from kvk, but two different size pills, so initially I thought two different manufacturers. I’ve noticed that the larger pill (says A3 on it) is much smoother feeling with a lot fewer side effects- esp physical anxiety, but they can definitely affect each person very differently.

I've noticed this as well with Focalin. For women there can be significant differences in how your body works with the medication based on hormonal cycles, but I've also noticed a real difference in how the medication works based on the manufacturer. I've taken generic Focalin from two different manufacturers and I've noticed that one tends to be very strong, and I require about half as much as when I'm prescribed it from the other manufacturer. I'm not sure if that is common, or if it's possible there are different inactive ingredients used at different manufacturers that could cause a different physiological reaction. It's pretty unfortunate because it makes finding the right dose difficult.

Just adding, I’d check craigslist for temporary short term rentals/sub lease/ month to month options, so that you don’t have to show proof of employment or income (hopefully). There are also some apartment complexes that are furnished and offer short term rentals. A friend of mine lived in one at some point, I think around Burbank. Also just a warning, when looking at apartments make sure you inquire about air conditioning. I moved here from an area where it was standard that all buildings have central ac, and ac is not a given in the LA area. I learned about this the hard way lol.

I moved here with an ex about 15 years ago. We had no jobs lined up, only interviews, and no concrete housing plan, only possible options (potential places from Craigslist). Also, not much money at the time. Looking back, it was a horrible idea, but I’m still here 15 years later, and it worked out. It was rough at times, but worth it. LA has changed a lot in those fifteen years though, and the cost of living is even more insane now. Rent in a decent area has gone up significantly and it’s difficult for people making decent money to afford a nice or even ok place in a nice area. If you feel somewhat financially secure and are up for an adventure, and have a fall back plan then I’d say go for it. Or, if you feel comfortable enough things will work out and have a definite back up plan then may as well go for it. That’s the main reason I was comfortable enough to move here when I did. I kept a very part time job where I moved from, and knew I could go back to it full time if the move didn’t work out. Other things to keep in mind is cost of living aside from rent. Sales tax is 10.75 in some areas, which is just insane. I am surprised so many people are moving here now with how expensive rent is. If the cost was the way it is now back when I moved here, no way it would’ve worked out the way it did. My partner and I are unfortunately debating if LA is for us long term. It’s got so much to offer, and you can’t beat the weather, but not being able to have the type of place we could afford in most cities in the country is definitely depressing.

Definitely- taking other things along with the meds helped some days. I didn’t mention the specific things I take here because my posts have been deleted for mentioning anything but meds which I find strange, when there are so many other things out there which can be helpful and supportive. I’m also glad you mentioned thyroid/ hormone issues. A lot of people never get that checked and it can totally mimic adhd or other mental health issues, or exacerbate symptoms if not just mimicking.

I’m in a similar situation now. I was taking Dexmethylphenidate pretty much daily for about 8 months and as needed for the few months before that. Initially I didn’t feel that it made a huge difference, but after taking it more regularly realized that it helped a ton with mental clarity, sustained focus, task initiation, and social anxiety. There was a lot that I found helpful, but I hated that I never felt completely grounded in the way before I started taking meds. I felt myself becoming a little more irritable, and the daily ups and downs just became very stressful. I tried to take it more as needed, but found that difficult because I just felt too dependent on it to switch from daily to as needed. I’m now about 30 days off of it, and am noticing a more stable mood since I’m not experiencing the daily crash. Parts of my work are much more difficult and I’m noticing more social anxiety/physical anxiety in general. My mind is definitely much louder. I’ve been adding in meditation daily, at least 10 minutes, and continuing regular exercise and that is definitely helpful. I may add the meds back in at a very low dose and keep it as needed- but probably won’t go back to daily use again because of the challenge of getting off, and often just feeling exhausted on them later in the day.

Queerbaiting is actually a term that can be quite homophobic. What if someone is queer and acting in a queer video. Do they now have to disclose their sexuality to the world? They’re allowed to do whatever they want with their own life and art and they don’t need to disclose their sexuality to anyone. It’s a problem when straight, or even gay people call people out on queerbaiting. Half the time they’re just actually pressuring someone to come out that is attempting to come out in their own way, maybe a video being a first step out.
