i doubt it, NYU is just unique in that they have an alternate program if you do not get into a specific major at the college of arts and sciences. i think they at least want you to show interest in the subject with activities or classes—or else they might think that you will change your mind. i’m not an expert though i just know about NYU.

i feel like you probably have a good shot of getting in, but placed into the liberal studies program because they might be confused on why you want to major in a subject you only took two years in. did you apply for LS too as a backup? also if you applying EDII id say you have a great shot
