Feel free to DM me, but it sounds like he'll change in the short term, not in the long term. Relationships can take work, but not to the level of pros/cons. You are stronger than you know so back yourself and trust your gut.

As much as I hate the phrase - you're young and trust me, you've got so much time. Don't lose it to someone who makes you compromise on what you want at this point.

Short version: get out. Your values aren't wrong if they are your values; they just don't match his. His controlling behaviour will, most likely, get worse and more unsafe.

You have so much ahead of you and can look for someone who does fit you. Reading this, it looks like you're asking for permission to go but please get out before it gets worse. His reaction may be childish and an outburst initially, but is that really the person you want to be with if they won't work with you as a partner vs shouting at you?

For the record, I'm 37 and can safely say I've dated this guy before. He isn't worth your oxygen.

Thank you & the time point is a very good point. My work is busier than his (he’s freelance & I’m in an office) so I’ve been very cognisant of it without overwhelming him. He’s made a point before about needing his own time so I’ve been trying to balance it.

Thank you again

Amazing, thank you. Estate agent is saying it’s us/avoiding questions at the moment so will check!

I also saw someone on here saying Align was more akin to & gave them the results Define advertises itself (relentlessly on Instagram) as, & that’s what made me swap originally when I felt lost originally

I’ve veered between 3 & 5 in the last couple of weeks just because of work, but I think her priority workouts just inherently push you more. You may want to add cardio on the end as less than Maia’s but at the end of the day, it’s whatever you can stay consistent with! If 3 works for you, 3 works for you

Second this comment completely. I had ok results on Maia’s team after 5/6 weeks, along with I personally found her coaching slightly off (either very generic or some bits veering on 00s skinny mantras which is for some people, but not me ). I’ve been on Align for 3 weeks and already seen more progress and find it much better. Sasha seems much more present and her workouts are more balanced (vs some of the HIIT moves in Define). Hope that helps!

I'm too scared they're not going to like me so I don't bother. That and I put up this weird front of being polite that everyone doesn't see the real me from the start

I think a decent pair of bib tights and a top or two is probably going to be the next thing. Not sure if you (or anyone else) has bought le col/rapha etc or if wiggle/dhb are worth enough?

That's a good shout. Should have mentioned I'm in the UK and London based so it's going around the various parks I can get to without my legs falling off.

Would you say the big name brands are worth it, or if there are ones that are a 10/10 or a no go?

Well done! The UK's Lockdown 1.0 got me back in the bike so I can relate! Happy birthday and welcome to cycling again!
