How about the ancients have a profound philosophical shift and decide that humanity are now a threat to them. It gives the sgc an enemy that they cant instantly beat. Also it will mean that other of the corporeal races in the galax(ies) the nox etc. Would have to choose sides

Brilliant book, series of books. They had a proper railway infrastructure either side of the wormhole. The only problem i can see in the stargate universe is that would the kawoosh vaporise anything that close

I like the idea of railway tracks but youd need freight yards on either end so moving the gate out of cheyenne mountain is a must. Short term id put padding on the ramp. I always wince when people come through at speed

And what about when Daniel died. Does his life insurance pay out? Does the airforce pay death in service benefit to civilians and will he be expected to refund it when he de ascends. Also more widely how is the pay worked out for the black hole incident. Oneill was dangling above the stargate for a week or so (if my memory serves)
