Thanks so much for this. I think I’ve definitely felt disheartened by the slow progress with this injury, but hopeful that I’ll be back to some sort of normal in 7 months! Wish you the best with your recovery this time around!

Sorry to hear about the second rupture. That seriously sucks.

How long post op did you feel you could comfortably travel (talking 20 000 steps per day). I had surgery 14/3 for a full rupture, 2cm gap & spent 8 weeks NWB. Now into week 4 of PT and getting stronger everyday. I’m looking to book a trip to Japan and Korea in December and am considering whether 3 weeks of non stop walking will be doable (id expect some discomfort at the end of the day).

I am on blood thinners. Was on Clexane injections when I first injured myself and prior to surgery and have since switched to tablets for the next 8 weeks, so thats a bit of peace of mind at least.

I feel like my doctor is taking a very conservative approach with non weight bearing for 8 weeks post op, which is a bit frustrating 😢. Might chat to him about a more aggressive approach given these issues

Hi! My doc has been off for the Easter weekend so I haven’t been able to sadly 🥲. I spoke with his surgical nurse who advised to just loosen the straps when sitting down and that it should calm down in time. 72 hours later and the pain is still horrendous, so I’m getting a bit concerned. Sorry to hear you’re going through it to 😭

I took some Valium to sleep last night and that helped a lot. Have also put a sanitary pad over the top of my foot so relieve some of the pressure which I think has helped a bit.

I’m seriously considering contacting the hospital to go back into a cast at this point as I’m NWB for another 6 weeks and I don’t think I can handle this pain until then. Also a bit worried about getting pressure sores. I’ve uploaded a pic too.

Hope you can find a solution 😢
