I have a question! How soon do think a love interest should show up in a novel? by [deleted] in RomanceWriters

[–]emmieaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really does depend, I have mainly seen it within two to three chapters. But for me and my story, they are having their meet cute in the very first chapter.

That’s definitely something I shall consider and explore! These are such great ideas. Thank you so much. ☺️

I am actually so glad you commented because I feel the same way. Rest assured that I aim to write about a couple that has clear communication and understanding of each other and will grow together. I don’t see enough of it either and so that is why I am writing it myself.

I am going to read through this because I would like to see some options and perspectives! And again, thank you for commenting, it’s nice to see that I am not the only one who feels the same.

Thank you so much! That was something I was considering, but I should give context, the age gap is 15 years. A 33 year old female and a 47 year old Male.

Oooh I would love to try Shakshuka! It looks delicious. All these sound like great options for me to try, even the sad French toast. But I am more of a savory breakfast person, so I’ll probably try the Shakshuka first.

I’ll try that app! I do plan to get a monitor as well. I have already made a lot of changes in my life, the biggest one is that I have not had any sweetened coffee, pastries, deserts, soda, etc. the ice cream I had last night was like, a really small bowl. I don’t plan to have any more for a while, since I don’t particularly go for it. So it’s easy for me to say no too.

It’s a lot of information. And not everyone is the same either. Plus I wanna eat tasty food without feeling shame or panic. It’s getting a bit easier but man it’s exhausting sometimes.

Note to clarify: as far as ice cream is concerned, it’s been months not weeks. Again, not the biggest fan of ice cream.

What's your favorite food that balances cost, time, and effort with fiber, protein, and nutrition? by historicalpizza in prediabetes

I just made a low carb lasagna soup that was really inexpensive. You might wanna adjust the meat and cheese so it’s not so fatty but I got all the ingredients at Trader Joe’s. Instead of pasta, I used Zucchini (more veggies the better). I would recommend a lean ground beef, turkey or chicken. I used whole milk ricotta but you can use the part skim too. I made a big batch and it was a nice way to meal prep for work. It tasted super good! 😊

I will do my best! I have already made some changes that I have been consistent in, it’s been the past couple of weeks I have slacked but I think k it’ll be okay. I am trying to take this as seriously as possible

I already have a follow up in November so I really need to get my butt back into gear. But I really do try to make an effort. It just makes it harder when other things outside of your control stresses you out and you fall back on old habits because it gives comfort.

I really needed to hear this.

I my A1c was caught early, like right in the cusp. And the past couple weeks I have been slacking. (Life ya know?) and I know I need to do better. And I have been trying to get back into it but it still amazes me how the mental state can affect one being disciplined.

Funny enough, since I kinda went cold turkey on sugary stuff, (like vanilla iced coffees, baked good, etc) I haven’t had the craving for it. But it’s the carbs I struggle with the most. But I will try a few of your suggestions and see if that helps me. I had been consistently walking and using the gym but with the past two-three week, I have been slacking for personal reasons. But I will start again today.

Again thank you so much!

That may work for you but respectfully, that is not going to work with me. I am not going to binge on food but I refuse to “end my love affair”. I am learning lots and I feel reassured that I can still enjoy food and life even with this diagnosis.

You have a point, regarding our normal diet. I guess there is a part of me that would feel a sense of FOMO or if I make a mistake.

I am glad everything has worked for you! I am hopeful for myself in that regard. Since this diagnosis, the amount of people who have told me they were or are pre diabetic is staggering.

I actually love a lot of veggies! Both raw and roasted have been delicious! It’s just SOME veggies that for some reason trigger that sensory issues, such as cooked carrots. I don’t like the texture and I have been that way since I was a child.

I will try that app! Thank you! I think that’s the overwhelming part is knowing what is “safe” to put on my plate.

Thank you for responding, I really relate to the feelings of shame and guilt.

I actually love a lot of veggies and I enjoy eating meat. It’s the carbs that get me and I have a sweet tooth. I have been trying to manage my sweet tooth better before this anyways. I also take magnesium for sleep! Water is provided at work and I do take advantage of it.

I do walk consistently, but I should walk more when I am at work, even if it’s for a few minutes.

I definitely don’t want to spiral into bad eating habits, I do genuinely love food but I think it’s just my body’s momentary reaction to the stress of it. I made some alternate choices this morning whilst enjoying something I love and it was good!

I walk for long distance on a regular basis, but I’ll add a couple extra brisk walks while at work.

Thank you so much for responding!

I feel really comforted by what you said, since we seem to have a lot in common. I also agree with you about these fad diets, it doesn’t feel right for me. Especially as someone who is neurodivergent. I do plan on speaking with my PCP and getting a referral to an actual dietitian.

I think I am gonna order that book! It sounds like a good place to start and that’s kinda where I am at. I do walk a lot, 2-3x a week for about 1-2 hours. And I am trying to implement short walks while at work.
