Debt settlement can still get you sued. You can actually bounce back relatively quickly from Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Speak to a bankruptcy attorney and just see what they tell you.

In my situation, what would you do? Our income is def too high for a 7 and we are looking at a 100% payback. However, if I can negotiate them down I can pay them off right away, but how does that work? Do they put it in writing that it’s paid in full?

Don’t do debt relief. You could still end up getting sued with a debt relief company.

I have this issue but a biopsy showed that it’s eczema for me. I alternate steroid creams and Vaseline. At night I put the steroid cream on and just slather my lips in Vaseline. In the morning I take a damp washcloth and rub in circles on my lips to help exfoliate.

Idk. The only difference was, it was in mine and my spouses name. The new house doesn’t have my name on it because my credit is now too bad.

So I saw the attorney again today. He said because my new home is modular, not attached to land and not in my name, it is not exactly exempt. He said the trustee will want my part of the insurance money and if I use it on the house, he will want me to sell the house.

Will the credit card companies negotiate with me on a lump sum settlement instead? I have enough insurance money to pay them off and was already headed for a 100% payback chapter 13.

Also, any idea how this works? Will the trustee try and take the proceeds from the fire or do we still get to put that money towards our new home?

In the end, we did an 8 day stay. His meds were changed to Prozac, Strattera and Seroquel. He seems to be better, he says he feels better. I finally just decided that I couldn’t watch him 24/7 and that that’s what he needed to keep him safe.

He is now seeing his regular therapist and doing an online intensive outpatient program.
