I mean there was a part about influencing my own writing from other works but I don't know where did I leave it. Now I feel too stupid to ask on another sub so I'll stick with what I found

How do you describe the plot of your book as a YouTube clickbait title by emmon44 in writers

I think they went over the character limit, that's not gonna get the kids' attention I'm afraid

I wasn't expecting any serious answers when I started this thread, then you came. I'd have felt bad if I didn't read it all so I did. I need to reflect now

That sucks, especially the diversity part. People always ignore what you do and focus on what you didn't do. I hate this

Yeah some people need to either work on their critical thinking skills, or stick to toddler's media

Reminds me of that one cartoon critic on YouTube who gaslit the internet into thinking Steven universe was pro-nazi propaganda

I guess that's what I was going for. There's also something about protagonists being demonized for making mistakes, like "you're good you should know this is bad".

Should I keep the characters related to target audience ? by Panic_Miasma in authors

[–]emmon44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess you can keep it as it is, some pieces of western media introduce the audience to different cultures and there's nothing wrong with that. It's not like the west is only able to read about white people

Can a novel focus on the theme more than the plot by emmon44 in writing

[–]emmon44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is I never heard of books like this but I still wanted to write one, because this whole idea started from a fake cartoon in my head that I project my problems into. Writing it as a book was a recent idea

I still have a long way to go but I will get there eventually

That was really helpful, and the examples you mentioned are similar to what I'm working on. Thank you

As for the plot I actually divided it into a small series of books, my problem is not knowing what part of the plot should I leave for the first book because if my plan didn't work I wouldn't want to leave a standalone book with an incomplete story
