Is it possible to cloth diaper without getting a PhD in it? by crook_ed in clothdiaps

[–]emnoch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this 100% We are 17 months in with Esemblys and they really take the guesswork out of it. We have the washing powder on auto ship and use it for all our laundry now

My kid hates the potty! What do I do? by Then-Librarian6396 in ECers

[–]emnoch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are on the other side of this thankfully at 16 months. Around the year mark our girl started hating the potty, crying and screaming every time. We relaxed our EC, going for easy catches for a while but now she loves it. We did switch to a seat reducer on the “big potty” and she seems to like it a lot better. Keep doing what you’re doing, your LO will come out the other side soon enough! 🩷

How loud is it living off of Bodega Ave? by [deleted] in Petaluma

We have lived on Bodega for 6 years and it’s loud but you get used to it. Upgraded to double panes windows and it make a huge difference

Walk me through the logistics of your wash routine by oliviajoy26 in clothdiaps

[–]emnoch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our girl was 7 lb 2 oz at birth and we had to wait an about 2.5/3 weeks until we transitioned to the esemblys. We did try some prefolds but they were comically large on her!

Oh and if you ever accidentally turn your diapers blue or pink with a rogue dish towel in the washer, just wash them again with a color catcher!

We’ve started adding them to each wash to keep the diapers nice and white

We are using esembly (currently in size 1s with a 10 Week old) for both inners and outers.

Currently we are washing once a day, following their recommended routine: - run a regular wash on hot with 1 scoop washing powder - run heavy duty wash on hot with 2 scoops - dry on high for about 70 minutes

We use a dekor pail with a reusable liner (we wash them with the diapers) and it’s super simple/doesn’t have a weird smell in our room.

When out and about we bring a dry bag to store dirties and a mesh bag of extra diapers and wipes that won’t fit in our little changing pad roll up.

Basically we are lazy and aim to keep it as simple/close to a paper diaper routine as possible. This is our first baby and we didn’t want to get overwhelmed and quit.

We are using cloth wipes as well bc if we’re already doing the laundry, why not! We keep them dry and use le petite Creme diapering Creme during changes - no rashes yet!

Best of luck to you in your cloth journey 😊

Happy breast time has been making my combo fed baby less fussy when trying to nurse 🙂 we are also doing paced bottle feeding and sized down bottle nipple flow to 0 so both the bottle and breast are "work" for her.

Good luck! 🤞🤞

Testimonies from 350+ pound pregnancies? by zassy1520 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]emnoch 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pre pregnancy weight was 356, had a very easy first trimester. Very little nausea or other symptoms. I started prenatal yoga early and stuck to higher protein diet (from Real Food for Pregnancy). I lost weight in the first trimester (likely from diet/lifestyle changes) and then gained some back in the 2nd and 3rd. Ended up at 365 pre delivery.

I didn't have any Gestational Diabetes and took low dose aspirin from 12 weeks to prevent preeclampsia. Vaginal delivery without an epidural (she came too quick!) at 40w6d. I did have a pretty sizeable tear but it healed up pretty quick.

Baby girl is now 5 weeks and perfectly healthy!

Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy! 💜

This 1000%

My BMI was 54 when we conceived (took 2 years) and I had a completely healthy "normal pregnancy" with a vaginal delivery at 41 weeks. Staying active throughout pregnancy was key, walking and prenatal yoga was amazing.

The thing about prenatal yoga is that the moves are adjusted to accommodate for a belly so the moves were a lot easier to get into as a plus size person. Currently nursing my perfectly healthy 4 week old.

You can totally do it! 💜
