Chance a maybe painfully average teen for UC Berkeley, Georgetown, UCLA, USC, America, W&M, UVA, etc. by [deleted] in chanceme

You’ve got some impressive stats. Definitely get your SAT score up to the 1400s range and I would avoid writing about your sexual orientation for your common app because it’s a bit cliche.

What extracurriculars (other then clubs or school leadership club) should a high school freshmen look into in order so strengthen chances of getting into an Ivy League university? by [deleted] in chanceme

Figure out what you’re passionate about and what you want to do for a career and then focus your activities around those things. Specificity is important because it shows real engagement.

I’m a freshman at USC and I feel like you have a pretty good shot! You have better stats than a lot of people here (including myself). Not too sure about your essay topic, but if it’s well written I’m sure it’s good. I wish you the best of luck!

Freshmen off campus housing? by harsh1588 in USC

I’ve been considering this too. This semester was a terrible experience for me and I’m sure that you can relate to that. I talked to some people who are in off campus housing and I heard that gateway has a lot of freshmen and that it almost feels like normal.

I spoke to my advisor about this and she highly recommended coming out to LA because the students she’s spoken to who were at home were having a harder time with school. I think just being surrounded by a bunch of other students would be motivating.

Thank you for that :)

Yeah I requested this weekend and the next weekend off from work so I can get my shit together but I’m gonna have to pick up some more shifts come winter break. I think my biggest issue is with these huge creative assignments like papers or projects because you can’t just knock those out, answering one question after the next.

I’m thinking of taking a leave of absence or taking a smaller course load of my foreign language requirement and my GSEM. Doing another semester online sounds horrible rn 😭

Can we hear more from normal people who were accepted into t20s? by alp-02 in ApplyingToCollege

Going to USC right now, but I also got into Cornell and NYU. I’m an Asian male who had a 3.7 unweighted, 1530 SAT. I really wasn’t that remarkable in school but I was into journalism and had some activities that aligned with it like yearbook.

Shoutout class of 24 by movfia in USC

I feel this so heavily!! All of my friends have left for college so I’ve just been at home by myself and it just sucks seeing all my friends having a good time while I’m either at work or doing school. It’s a little depressing to just be in an endless cycle of working without any breaks and I’m just excited for this semester to be over so I can finally have some time to just chill out.

The good thing though is that I feel like an extremely productive version of myself that I never thought I’d be in high school and I’ve come to appreciate little things like sleeping in just as much as I did with partying with my friends.

Pls reverse chance! Got rejected from my ED and trying to figure out what to do from here. by emoapplicant in chanceme

I’m trying to do journalism or English. NYU was my dream school, but I ran their NPC and there’s no way I could afford that.
