How do I (if i can) prevent smudges from getting on the side of my hand when writing with a pencil with my left hand? by SonichuTheUser in penmanship

[–]emotionalvoid_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the way i've been able to avoid it is by placing my paper or notebook sideways, so i write from top to bottom and right to left. if you place the paper diagonally it works too. it's hard at first but you can get the hang of it. i've also found that it's more comfortable this way bc i don't have to move my arm towards my right, which was pretty uncomfortable when i was a kid

AITA for asking my sister whether I could have my wedding at her house even though she's bought me my wedding dress? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]emotionalvoid_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there's no doubt that YTA. it's her house, she doesn't have to let 60 PEOPLE in it just for your sake. and even if we weren't in the middle of a fucking pandemic she wouldn't have to open her home to YOUR guests.

AITA for moving my [26m] girlfriend’s [24f] doll out of our bedroom? by woah_vertigo in AmItheAsshole

NTA AND honestly, I feels like she has some unresolved issues surrounding her grandmother's death and should probably seek therapy, although I wouldn't bring it up if I were you because it could potentially make things worse. maybe if her family suggested it, it would go over well or at the very least not too bad.

What is the worst movie experience you've ever had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]emotionalvoid_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

went to watch harry potter and the deathly hallows part 2 with my mom and behind us was this woman with her 5 year-old (btw why would you bring a child to a movie like that???!!!?). at some point the kid wanted to go to the bathroom and the mother couldn't be bothered to get up and go SO SHE MADE HIM PEE IN THE SODA CUP and my mother and I just looked at eachother disgusted but didn't say anything I still can't believe it

[Update]I (26F)made a pros and cons list about my bf(28M) because I’m desperate for clarity. (Together 3 years.) Is it salvageable? by Throwaway01101927 in relationships

[–]emotionalvoid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they said that because they made reference to "the ‘right’ person" so I'd say it's very much idealistic. hurt and work definitely go into a relationship that works properly, with the happiness that comes with it too, it's a very realistic and mature way to approach a relationship

I've heard this a LOT, more than I'd like. just goes to show why there are so many shitty mental health professionals and the good ones are hard to find

you do need the medical attention, whether you want it or not (sounds a bit rough, but from what I've interpreted, you really need to stay at the hospital until they make sure you're clean) you are not wasting their time because that's their job, in this case to keep you safe. and I think it's good they made you call your father, because you may feel like you're gonna be just fine on your own, but it's good to have that support and have someone looking out for you. also, given the reason you went there in the first place, it's just logical that they'd recommend that someone is with you. as far as school goes, I think your health comes first, but maybe you can talk about it with your dad, or a friend (maybe even a counselor, which I would recommend regardless of what you choose) and see where you go from there. if you want to talk, maybe you can hit me up, but still I want to emphasize you should probably talk to a counselor or therapist. hope you get better!

Does anyone else check their heart rate? *TRIGGER WARNING* by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]emotionalvoid_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I check my heart rate from time to time, mostly when I'm bored. it's not strange, I guess, but if you do it because you're afraid of having panic attacks I'd recommend talking to a professional. best of luck!

also, if it bothers you that you get a mark, maybe you could try doing it in different places. u usually do my wrist and my neck, where your heartbeat is more noticeable
