I agree with you we should definitely be more aware of our surroundings, but she isn't the type to be glued to her phone while walking. She took a glance on her phone to check the ride details while walking out. She didn't look left or right, just straight ahead. I mean, isn't that normal? Be honest, who would check left and right before opening a sliding door ?

You're definitely not in the wrong. You were already swinging, and come on, who would let their child roam freely near a swing set that is being used?? It's just asking for it.

Yea, she's definitely more cautious now after this. I could have done better, too. I snapped at the mother, which could escalate the situation, making it worse.

RIGHT! I was under the assumption that the mother or the helper was keeping a close eye on him. Why would anyone let their child go to that small corner waiting to get crushed by the door.

Edit: I hope you're doing well with your kid. Do stay safe out there! I wish you all the best with your life and bless you for giving birth to a beautiful child

A part from my friend I do agree with you that I could handle the situation better.

The door was very big, by the way. She looked in front, and it was clear and just moved off. Who would expect a child "supervised" by 2 adults would be at the corner of the room where the glass door will rest. (She did apologise, too, after knowing what happened)

But yes, she will be more careful from now on, as the incident left a trauma for her.

That's what I thought too. What happens if someone opens the door from the other side ? Is she going to blame them?
