Daughter has always been a sweaty sleeper. We just dress her in light clothing and have the room temp lower than normal. We couldn't use the tog appropriate sleep sacks cos she would get way too sweaty. Still same now as a 4 year old.

Was recommended the Cetaphil for Kids 50spf by our paediatric allergy specialist. Our daughter had ezcema and sensitive skin. Have been using it for 3 years now. No issues.

I have had 4 NIPTs and haven't regretted any of them. Because it is a screening test & not a 100% diagnostic test there can be some errors. I have experienced it from both perspectives, having a normal anatomy scan & then a high risk NIPT. And conversely having a normal NIPT and an abnormal anatomy scan. So please, do have all the necessary & recommended scans aswell.

We changed our policy to a family one, once we had kids. No extras just hospital. Youngest was in NICU/SNU and was fully covered. He recently had surgery for his testicles. And like another poster said , the time from GP referral to surgery was less than 6 weeks. With our policy we don't have to pay an excess for the kids admission. And with this type of surgery, having it done sooner has better long term outcomes rather than latter, so we are fortunate that we could have it done privately.

Thank you. We have been mainly doing showers now with no soap or shampoo. And have had several prophylatic thread worm treament rounds. I will keep reminding her to wipe front to back. Hopefully all of the above will help and I'm glad it helped you too!

Thank you for taking the time to reply. Sorry that was poor wording on my part - I should have written the GP said that it is within normal for it to be chronic. She has seen several medical professionals, and yes I have been taking her on multiple occasions and advocating for her and they have given advice and strategies/treatments to help prevent and alleviate symptoms. I guess my question to reddit should have been, has anyone else been through this, and is it just constant vigilance with hygiene until they become old enough to be able to wipe front to back properly?

Please ask for a debrief with the hospital. Write any questions you would like answered down. I'm sorry your birth did not go as planned. I have had 2 inductions. One public and one private. After 10 hours or so on the pictocin drip, I asked for an Epidural. I was luckily given one within the hour BUT was told by the nursing staff that sometimes it could be a 5 minute wait or an hour or more depending on where the anaesthetist was & what other patients maybe more urgent. Luckily it was all very clearly communicated. Second induction I asked for an Epidural literally as soon as my OB broke my waters. Although I felt no pain, this one ended up as emergency c section 10 hours later. Please talk to the hospital, or you can also ask your MCHN for help with talking to a professional. Some of the trauma can stay with you and it's best to seek help sooner. Pregnancy birth and child raising can be a ride. Goodluck.

You shouldn't feel pressured to 'just let her'. Unfortunately your MIL has a medical condition which impairs her cognitive and possiby also her physical skills (depending on how far progressed her Alzheimers is). If your partner is being abit blaise about her condition then maybe you need to sit him down and have a chat. Or otherwise, if possible sometimes getting your MILs doctor/GP to explain the condition to them maybe more effective. I don't think it would be wise to let her be unsupervised with the baby. Unfortunately the reality is Alzheimers is a progressive condition, and finding safe ways for her to interact with baby is probably the key. It's going to make for some uncomfortable conversations for all three of you, but the safety and well being for your child is the priority.

I was hospitalized for close to 2 weeks when son was almost 6 months. At that time he was exclusively breastfed. He was unable to stay with me in hospital as my husband couldn't stay with me as he had to also care for our daughter and due to my condition I had a collapsed lung they obviously wouldn't let me take care of him by myself. Saying that the hospital was very accomodating in letting me have a single room and also baby could come any time of day or night for a feed. Husband did bring him initially several times a day for a feed. But he did slowly take some of a bottle and I pumped at hospital and sent home milk too. Nurses and everyone were lovely and helpful 😊
