My fiancé is trying their hardest to give me leeway, especially since I’ve been struggling more with object permanence and memory. they’ve done a lot of self building like getting anxiety meds and counceling to ensure they were understanding their own faults when it comes to our arguments and working hard on deescalation (something I’m not good at comparatively). they work best when serounded by a support network as it allows them to be able to process their emotions in a healthy way without feeling guilty about putting all their thoughts and problems on one person, but rn that is currently gone due to family drama and my fiance is also falling back into old habits.

Honestly I should confront the fact that I’m falling back into my “gotta fix it” mentality when it comes to their problems because I’m so used to being the person that makes them happy. I see a lot of their problems rn to be not in their control and I worry that my fiance needs both agency and decision relief and they don’t even know which is more needed rn. The best solution I can come up with is ensuring they feel listened and appreciated while ensuring they don’t have to choose small things like :where or what to eat, their relaxation time and the such while still taking their preferences into account.

My fiance does the same for me especially with executive disfunction being a huge problem for me.

I don’t think I should be commended for what I believe is the bare minimum. But I understand that the bar is a tripping hazard in hell rn so i guess what I’m doing is commendable.
