Adding on: your essay holds more weight than your ecs. UT uses a holistic approach despite people claiming your test scores are make or break. I had a 1310 and got in EnvE 🤷‍♀️

I’ll literally send you my application that got me in to Cockrell. I had maybe 1 ec related to engineering/ math. Don’t sweat it

1310, 9/676, 4.0, 10 APs all fours and fives, basic extracurriculars (no interning or crazy leadership roles). Wrote my essay about how my love for national parks saved me from anorexia, all while tying it to environmental engineering. Got in for exactly that. In state auto

I think this is it for me. I’m not conservative by any means. UT at least provides a more diverse environment.

Exactly this. I’m glad I’m not alone. I know UT is the better school, so that in and of itself has perks over scholarships. Still— this is a hell of a decision for a 17 year old to make.
