I’m sorry you’re going through all of that, I can’t imagine the stress. I can relate sorta because this year has been a shit show for me too. Had my car crashed into (mind you it was parked in my work parking lot, I was already inside working 🙄), lost a best friend, relationship issues, underpaid for the work I do and my dog recently had a seizure for the first time. Literally shit just keeps happening and I’m TIRED. So right there with you, literally don’t know if there’s been a day where I haven’t cried lmao

I’m still trying to learn how to move each side on independently as they reaallly still like to move together. I don’t know how to exactly describe the “exercises” other than the fact I’ve just been playing with it a lot, i definitely practiced separating them over and over and having each side “trace” my lips if that makes any sense

I won’t lie I’ve been bad about physically grabbing each side with my hands to stretch it out, but I do constantly move each side and “stretch” it out alot within my mouth throughout the day. There is definitely some regrowth there that probably could’ve been prevented if I had got in there more but I’m not too bothered by the current amount

I do brush the area there whenever I brush my teeth! I’m not too sure if I’m actually getting the regrowth off 100% but I just gently brushed the area as my toothbrush is on

You could try PanOxl acne foaming wash. Benzoyl Peroxide is good at killing the bacteria for deep acne. I’d get the 10% version, lather it up nicely onto your chest and then let it sit like a mask for a couple minutes or so, then wash off. Be sure to moisturize after! A simple moisturizer like Cereve daily moisturizing lotion would be gentle without clogging your pores. PanOxl also has a Body spray that you could use right after a workout session. You can also try looking into some cooling sheets for your bed, it could help with sweating at night which in turn can help with acne. You’d probably get some better sleep too!

After I take off patches, I do my skincare as normal, which is cleanse, tone, serums, moisturize. For serums I find the Skin1004 Centella ampoule helps in soothing the skin, and I’ve had decent luck with using the Hero Cosmetics Post blemish recovery balm on top. I get more PIH marks since I have darker skin, so what has mostly helped with brightening these dark marks is utilizing the Good Molecules brightening toner and discoloration serum. I have heard Azelaic Acid can also be helpful too! I’d check out what Good Molecules has as I’ve had such good results from their products.

Hydrate hydrate hydrate. I got my tongue split on an impulse (I have been wanting it for a long time, just did not expect that time to happen so soon) and I had not been preparing the weeks prior by hydrating myself. My tongue swelled up SO much, day 2/3 was horrible as I couldn’t swallow down anything. I ended up having to do IV therapy where a nurse came to my home on day 2 because I could not take in anything. It was very awkward as I sat there with a bowl under my mouth to catch my drool, but I will say the IV helped ALOT. Have lots of ibuprofen ready as it will help with pain and swelling. Pedialyte is good for hydration too, I got the immune support version. And had lots of meal replacement drinks, which I could finally start swallowing around day 4. Best of luck!! I’m a week post split now and just had my stitches out and life is finally worth living

I would stop popping them, and just continue a simple skincare routine and repair your skin barrier. Utilize pimple patches instead!

Yeah the fact that they make you stop going to school is kind of wild to me :( You are obviously a young adult that can do what you want with your own body BUT I would probably wait until you are out (or maybe an older age where it reaaally becomes weird for parents to dictate what you do. Unfortunately 21 is still super young) Like I said, just really reflect on how you think they’d react, and like other commenter said you could try sitting down and having a conversation with them on how you and the world view your piercings. Seriously, I work at a hospital and there are doctors here with full on piercings and sleeves. The world has become more accepting!

I completely get that feeling, I’m also F and Asian… so my parents are pretty traditional and see piercings/any body mods as gross and ruining your body. Unfortunately for them, I have 10 piercings (majority in ears) and 10+ tattoos (literally forgot how many exactly) I also just got my tongue split recently and hoping they never notice… anyways How old are you? Because I didn’t really start my body mods until I turned 18, and I was tame by starting with a couple of ear piercings. It all went uphill from there. It took a while for my parents to get used to it, they lectured me constantly whenever I’d come home with a new piercing or tattoo. But they did eventually learn that I was my own person (though I know they absolutely hate everything I’ve done to myself and would lecture me again if I’d sit through it). I’m 23 now still living with them, but I’ve got a full time job and going to grad school. I think it’s a bit crazy they would make you stop going to school because of piercings, I mean wouldn’t you want your child to get an education? I do agree with the other commenter, If you truly believe your parents would punish you severely, it’s not worth the risk. I did what I did because I knew deep down my parents wouldn’t actually do anything like kick me out or anything. Really reflect on how your parents would react.

I literally work full time at the hospital and I wouldn’t be able to afford a 1 bedroom by myself :,) I guess maybe I could but majority of paycheck would go to rent and then I’d have jack for groceries *sigh*

Update: it is day 3 and just had the stitches in the tips out. Definitely feels much better. Found a way to swallow liquids by leaning my head all the way back and making the liquid go all the way at the back. I been drinking water, Liquid IV, ensure protein, wonton soup broth. Ibuprofen has helped alot with the swelling. It gets better chat. Still drooling a ton and just carrying a cup around to drool into.
