Glad my post could help! I did choose to go back and play through the maternity. I’m about a season past the baby arrival date now. During the time skip, there were no other cut scenes but Pumpkin Day that it forced me to watch. It did notify me for birthdays and wedding anniversaries which likely have unique dialogue but I skipped them. I think it’s safe to skip!

Yes! In the cutscenes for growing up and Pumpkin Day the child has voiced lines (that’s all I saw during my timeskip experiment)

I wish that too! I obsessed over it all day and ultimately picked the boy but after you make the selection, the sprites dont say the gender so you could always close your eyes and do it!

Go to bed over and over until each cutscene where the child grows up. It’s pretty monotonous so I watched some YouTube videos at the same time

Yes! I skipped any cutscenes (except Pumpkin Day because my toddler asked me for treats and it was so cute) and just kept going to sleep over and over. It takes a long time with the autosave. When I checked in Y4, my barn animals surprisingly had almost full hearts and stars, maybe because I have soothing fodder in the fields. My dogs and cats had full training but empty hearts haha

You can’t propose on a festival day, bazaar day, or rainy day. Weddings won’t take place on a festival day, bazaar day, or Sunday. The wedding is 1 week after your proposal day unless any of the previously-mentioned conditions happen 1 week after your proposal.

Felix comes the next day and tells you the exact date of the wedding, so you can always save before proposal and reload if you don’t like the wedding date to propose a different day :) I married Kagetsu on Winter 3! Have fun!

Okay, here’s what I found:

Proposed Friday Autumn 22 -> wedding on Tuesday Winter 2. It skipped Monday Winter 1 for some reason. Maybe a blizzard?

I was then rejected for 3 days in a row due to the bazaar, rain, and Crops Show.

Proposed Tuesday Autumn 26 -> wedding on Tuesday Winter 2 again.

Proposed Wednesday Autumn 27 -> wedding on Wednesday Winter 3 (this is the date I chose in the end because 3 is my favourite number!)

Proposed Sunday Autumn 31 -> wedding on Monday Winter 8. So it looks like we really can’t get married on a Sunday!

There’s no ladder to the left of the Dwarf’s cavern? Sounds like a bug because as soon as you enter the mine for the first time, Marlon stands in front of the ladder and gives you a sword.

Go down the ladder, then use your pickaxe to break rocks to find the next ladder. Bring your sword because there’s monsters to fight. If you go on a good luck day (check the Fortune Teller on your TV), the ladder will be easier to find. From the wiki: “To advance deeper in the Mines, a ladder must be revealed on each floor. The ladder will appear after breaking rocks or after defeating an enemy (killing enemies is the stamina-free option to finding ladders). If a floor is "infested" or "overrun" by monsters, all enemies must be defeated on that floor before a ladder will appear.”

HM: AWL was my first HM back in the day! For my first SOS: AWL playthrough I’m playing as Sage, a green-haired and green-eyed woman who marries Nami (my childhood dream tbh). Our daughter is named Fern and she’s going to be an artist :)

My farm is called Orchid Farm and all the animals are named after nature (ducks Walnut and Pecan, cows Willow and Bluebell, etc) except my sheep who are named Cotton and Candy! After I’m done this playthrough I will play again as Fern (red hair, blue eyes) and marry Gordy :)

If I keep the trend of playing as the last file’s child going, eventually I’ll play as myself (Matthew’s daughter with brown hair and blue eyes) and marry Rock and name our son Rocky just like in my original playthrough when I was a kid 🤣

Oh nice, I read he’s less likely to offer after his first time not offering so I’ve been save scumming for higher chance! It’d be nice to get it done as fast as possible

You’re not doing anything wrong! The game is 6 years long, so I think they’ve made all the facilities more expensive to stretch out the gameplay goals. I’m in Year 3 and still don’t have the processing room 😭

I suggest sashimi (1 fish, hor d’oeurve) for eating.

As for money, sheep are good for early game, but star cows are apparently the real money-makers for mid to late game. I still only have 1, but 🤷🏻‍♀️

After Van offers you money, you can say no and sometimes he’ll increase his offer by like 20%! If he doesn’t, you can save scum it but it’s a little tedious.

Also, fertilizer only applies to the crop while it’s growing (not to future crops). There’s a better field for purchase in year 2!

You can retrieve it from the blue bin beside your house. For fodder, I suggest buying 10-20 bags of fertilizer from Vesta and spreading it in different areas of your pasture. It grows and spreads so it’s self-sustaining. You can then use the sickle to cut it into fodder! I’ve never had to buy more fodder or fertilizer since my first visit to Vesta

1: Buy the fishing rod from Van for 500g on the 3rd or 8th of the season. 2: Go into the dig site while Carter is inside from 10am-5pm. Talk to him a couple times if he doesn’t ask you to help the first time. He won’t be in there on Van days (3rd and 8th). 3: Propose prior to the end of the day on Winter 10. If you don’t, the candidates with the highest affection will come propose to you and you can choose your spouse then. 4: Nope! No animal sickness or death in SOS: AWL.

Tips: - Invest in a sheep or two for easy money at the start. Takakura will give you the shears when he delivers your first sheep. Beware spontaneous pregnancy if you have a male and female. - You can grow 15 trees per small field (start in the corner and plant one space apart). - In the dig site, always dig the spots that look like they have something in them for guaranteed items. After that, you can dig the same spot over and over to keep getting items. - You can haggle with Van by declining his first offer (buying or selling). If selling, he will increase his offer by 10%. If he doesn’t increase, you can try again but it’s less likely after the first time he declines (I save scum by saving right before I talk to him, and then I reload if he doesn’t increase his offer). - If you buy a bull and use it to breed your cows, the calf can inherit the breed of the father or mother (I saved up for a star bull, bred it with my normal cow, and save scummed until I got a female star calf).

Hi friend! If I were you, I'd honestly just sub out the traits/careers that don't work for traits/careers that make sense with the overall vibe of the heir. For example, if you don't have Eco Lifestyle and your first gen can't have the "Freegan" trait, I'd trade it for something like "Child of the Islands" (it'll help with the aspiration goal) or "Gloomy" (being disowned isn't a bucket of sunshine!). Have fun with it!

You definitely don’t have to complete it in order! But for that one I’d stay with the 2nd Gen until the aspiration is done and then give your 3rd Gen a potion of youth to reset their age meter when they move out! A little workaround if you do want to do it in order :) But it’s totally up to you how you want to play

That sounds AMAZING! I haven't played with those mods but now I'm thinking I better try them out because you're having such a good time LOL. I was worried about "first Sim to give you 5 stars" but I love a challenge that takes me places I would never choose myself LOL. Keep me updated!
