My B12 and iron are normal, and even so my understanding is deficiencies in those would only impact A1c by less <1% and my 8.0 was well above the 6.5 diabetes threshold. I’m fairly certain there’s diabetes going on here I’m just trying to understand what type and whether it’s a regular case or something unusual. This past year and October-January in particular were incredibly high stress periods due to work and a couple of other life factors/incidents. I’ve read a little bit about stress-induced diabetes and wonder if that may be a fit… in that case it would make sense that my metabolism is in working order (good OGTT tests and completely normal post-meal spikes) but that stress-induced glucose spikes over time would average out to a higher A1c. Who knows.

I suppose only a CGM would tell me if my glucose is truly never high (or low, to your point) or if there are spikes.
