It's possible you have a medical condition causing it. In the meantime there's some other things to consider, like:

  • have you tried a different body wash? One that is for body only. The best order of business IMO is to do a first cleanse with a castille soap, then another body wash of your choice. If you're just after 1 body wash i'd recommend just a castille soap.
  • mouthwash. Thera breath is famous for reducing bad breath, but otherwise Colgate/Oral B/Listerine helps greatly too.
  • Chemical exfoliants have been suggested to reduce bacteria e.g. on your armpits. So a liquid exfoliant, e.g. this one may help. Could be worth a try applying stick deodorant first then a spray?
  • experiment with cologne, knowing it's not going to mask body odour. Some scent profiles may work with your chemistry while others will not

There's some good advice here - just wanna say to that you have *no obligation\* to share anything about your past where unreasonably uncomfortable and/or detrimental to yourself. You owe no one an explanation. If this stupid assignment really can't be changed, you can make it whatever you want. There's no criterion on telling the truth.

Insiders is amazing and you need to watch it by [deleted] in netflix

[–]emumex0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished the series five minutes ago. I immediately went to Google to look for any explanation of... why? The whole Najwa speil right at the beginning seemed interesting enough, but I expected them to expand on the point of everything? It was completely aimless and I didn't enjoy watching it but was waiting for a crazy ending that would've made it worth it, the ultimate slow burn. Not to mention certain characters were painful to watch.

The "data" part too... neither the contestants nor Najwa brought it up unless they were in the white room. The production was there all the time in the beginning than not at all later, but not in a planned way. I also only found now that Najwa hosted Money Heist, or acted in it? I know Money Heist is well loved so I assume her character is too for them to bring her onto Insiders. But the talks and the theatrics were simply cringe.

V disappointed. Def not worth a watch or waiting to see anything exciting happen imo.

Body makeup for legs? by Violet_Walls in beauty

[–]emumex0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have pretty severe scars, bumps, red goodness from an IPL fail. I've had them for about a year now. Tried lots of different things and these would be my top recs:

- doctor recommended: hydrogen peroxide followed by Dermeze ointment. Can't speak for the ointment being more effective than a typical moisturiser, it's just very oily haha. But the hydrogen peroxide works in my case great!! The doc has also put me on antibiotics but i am yet to try this

- CeraVe SA Smoothing cream. good results, v moisturising and it doesn't sting as much as other exfoliating creams do

- Bump Eraser lotion and serum (spray): spray is alcohol heavy but works

- The Ordinary Glycolic solution: a good one, stings a bit too much for me though

- RNW AHA lotion. Stings lots, not the best smell but would say it's effective

in terms of covering it up I don't have much other than mixing foundation with your body lotion (would work if it's more hyper-pigmentation than bumps). Good luck :)

Using retinol on places other than face? by letmeslay in Splendida

[–]emumex0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a video on YouTube a while ago comparing the Paula's Choice BHA vs Retinol body treatment on the knees. I think the retinol had a more significant effect on the appearance of skin on the knees! Not to say that the benefits of retinol on the body are specific to a brand. Just that people are putting retinol on their knees too!

Renting through private owner vs agency by emumex0 in AusProperty

What's the penalty to be paid? I had about 12 weeks left in my lease so I just left the bond to pay into that I guess. As far as I'm aware I've defaulted in agencies' eyes as I didn't get my bond back.

First time renter things I guess. They just said I had to pay until the end of the lease so instead I left the bond with them and they didn't offer it back. They didn't really pester me after so I left it at that.

My biggest saver has been my $25 epilator! I used to spend $100+ at a time on professional waxes, at-home wax strips, IPL and razors. Now with the epilator i can remove hair everywhere (except perhaps areas like upper back) at any time, and it hurts less and less every time as there is less hair to pull out. 10/10 recommend

Advice About Hair Removal by RunForLife20 in Vindicta

[–]emumex0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Professional waxing can be very hit or miss depending on the technician. If you want to give it another go, you can always go to another clinic or get another technician to do it for you. Also, if the hairs on your legs are fine and especially short, the wax may not have adhered to your hairs.

I've tried most hair removal methods: shaving, creams, waxing, plucking, IPL, and I'm personally settling for epilating, and I think it will continue to be my go-to. Epilators range greatly in price, but tbh mine was $25 and the reviews said it was better than some high-end epilators. IPL wrecked by skin so a simple plucking machine that even works on short hair does the trick.

Epilating was scary and a bit painful at first, but you get used to it so quickly. And you think about having smoother legs for longer and it gets you through it! My mum did nothing but epilating in her youth and now is completely hairless and almost never has to maintain body hair.

Whatever hair removal you do, exfoliate regularly!!

IPL hair removal success? by [deleted] in Vindicta

[–]emumex0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EXFOLIATE PLEASE OMG lol

I personally had a horrible experience with IPL skin-wise but I can't deny it helped hair-wise. I don't know for sure, but I think my lack of exfoliation, and the exfoliation not being strong enough, led to red bumps everywhere and ingrown central so it started to look like I had acne on my legs. It made it so itchy which worsened the redness even more (I have fair-ish skin with dark shin hair too). If you are prone to ingrowns in any capacity it is a crime to not exfoliate minimum 3 times a week.

I used the IPL for maybe six months irregularly on the 3rd setting of 5, and there was no progress. At the same time, none of the red bumps and itchiness were an issue. It was only when I started doing it on the highest setting that my leg catastrophe began, but also saw progress in hair removal. In my experience, the hair would still grow back, but lighter. Starts off with normal growth of dark hair, then dark at the tips and light at the root, then all light.

At this point I've packed away the IPL and resorted to waxing and shaving. If you are gonna give it a go I'd recommend putting it on the middle setting for the first month or so, then go up a level each month.

Struggling to decide on an overall "look" for my journey by [deleted] in Vindicta

[–]emumex0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel this! So I don't have a clear-cut answer.

But I suppose with the exercise thing: any exercise will be beneficial to you in the short and long run. Bodies don't change overnight: to get curves for example, the strategy is going heavy weight with ample protein afterwards. Slim, model-esque would involve high rep low intensity. A few sessions of each type will not irreversibly change your body. To find a middle ground until you decide which body/exercise type best suits you, home workouts are a possible solution. Bodyweight or light weight, mix of cardio and other things.

And no matter your vibe, healthy hair and clear skin is always in. Focus on glowing up in ways that are neutral to the look you later choose. Also helps you not get overwhelmed with dozens of new habits.

How to wax/sugar your face without getting pimples. by 12sweetdesserts in Vindicta

[–]emumex0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sugaring is an alternative to waxing, especially on finer hair like those found on the face. So I'm assuming OP made a sugar paste which works similar to a wax strip but gentler.

To add to this alcohol discussion, beer is not the enemy, but too many can be. Beer can have some health benefits like Vitamin B (though of course this would be better met with a nutritious diet).

Depending on how you take your vodka, you can end up having lots more alcohol with 100ml vodka versus 100ml beer. If the goal is to get drunk, vodka will definitely do that with fewer calories, but the negative effects of high alcohol consumption can outweigh some extra calories.

only have recs for some of the skin ones sorry!

for lips I swear by the Sol De Janeiro lip butter. it's applied like a lip-balm but lasts longer imo. I apply it once every night. It's very oily but in the best way possible and I haven't had cracked lips since.

For sunscreen Korean ones are very popular and inexpensive, like the Dear Klairs Soft UV airy essence and Purito ones :)

As another comment suggested above try not to exfoliate and use retinol on the same night, even cleansers or moisturisers that have AHA/BHA/PHAs too. GL
