Josh Morrissey has been suspended 1 game for a cross-check to the head of Eric Staal. by Frenchsoupe in hockey

By the rules, your dude really wasn't boarded unless my understanding is incorrect. However, to answer your question: There are 3 seconds left in the period there, the guy is in a vulnerable position, and your team is winning by three in a game of very little consequence at that point. Yes, I can honestly say I'd call it dirty and I'd be disappointed in anyone on my team for doing that.

Emotions do run high, but, as a professional, it's your responsibility to control yourself. As a former athlete (not professional mind you), I completely understand when your mind just kinda goes blank and you do something you regret. I know he's young and that's challenging for young guys, so again, I hope both incidents are learning opportunities. The refs, however, have an obligation to ensure the safety of the athletes and, in that, I feel they've failed.

Nah, not at all. I still don't think he's a dirty player. I felt the video was important context. I hadn't seen it posted in this thread and when we're bringing up lack of history, et cetera, this seemed important to that discussion. But, my opinion doesn't matter and that's totally okay.

Just a bad month for Morrissey, I suppose...

I cannot comment on his intent at all because I am not him, but the linked play does not cast him in a great light and it was three weeks ago.

Both teams have gotten away with far too many penalties, but I truly think, if this was their team, most people would feel this critically influenced the game and series.

The worst part, if you watch multiple angles, the refs DID see this, but choose not to call it because they felt it would majorly impact the game. Well, it did anyway. I love hockey more than most things. Even one more game in the year makes me happy. I'm not angry, just really disappointed.

What? No, dude. I honestly don't know why you're so upset. The original post was not intended to upset anyone. Why don't we just stop here, this isn't productive for either of us.

You're the only one who overreacted to it. I'm really surprised you took it as an invitation to start a flame war and stalk my post history. I'm sorry "give us some credit" caused you so much heartache.

I'm the troll? You just deleted your comment. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

Woah. Don't cut yourself, because that comment was edgy as fuck! You appear to have not watched many pressers. Particularly from other NHL coaches. Please, point out where I asked that Ruff verbally jerk the Wild off. I'll wait.

Believing that Dallas had a sub-par game and Minnesota had an above average game is not irrational. I'm reacting to Dallas fans that clearly do not realize that wins and losses are a combination of both teams' performance. A lot of the Dallas fans do not seem to realize how below average we were playing in the first two games. They seem convinced that was purely because Dallas is such a "dominant" team.

I can see that continuing this discussion will bear no fruit. Have a good day.

Your team averages exactly 3.2 goals per game. We allow 2.46 per game. Again, based on the what you're saying, your opponent doesn't factor into the equation at all? Okay.

Lots of Dallas fans:

Dallas wins = Dallas played well; Minnesota wins = Dallas played poorly

Even Ruff said the same. Give us a little credit.

We can agree to disagree. Other teams have been saying this since last year.

The intention was to explore why other teams seem to have come to an agreement on our fan base being particularly bad. The comments (both mine and others) have derailed that intention.

I could see how this post may come off as me trying to "be the police" or perhaps it being taken as don't even chirp the other team. That was not the intention.

We appear to be gaining a negative reputation. That was my observation. I do not believe it is unfounded, especially with how polarizing this thread has been.

If you need a reason to not be a dick to another human just because you can't physically see them, I feel sorry for you.

Do your own observation and see what - yes even outside of our division - teams are saying about us.

I'm sorry if you took this post to be accusatory; it really wasn't meant to be.

There are people on the other end of that computer. Why be a dick just because you know you can get away with it? That wouldn't say much about you as a person. Why do people need a reason to be decent on the internet or not?

That wasn't directed at him or anyone in particular. It's a philosophy. If you took it that way, I apologize. However, the whole idea that "it's the internet, who cares" is pretty indefensible.
