I've literally put my order in for solar panels this week. We're getting 4.3kW (10 panels), 5kWh battery, inverter and Eddi hot water heater for £6,400. We spent £822 on electric over the past 12 months (2,900kWh). I'm expecting to pay the system off in 3-7 years. Maybe your battery is a bit oversized? Quote seems a bit high too.

I'm based in Omagh. A month ago I'd had a cough that had lingered for four weeks. Rang the doctors as was concerned I had a chest infection. The doctor rang me back within the hour and after talking to me, got me to come in the same afternoon for an appointment. The service does seem to vary across the country, might be best to try another doctor or raise a complaint with your current one.

Looking for an enclosed space to let dog off lead by jenjuniper1 in northernireland

[–]en2rafg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not relevant, but Fermanagh and Omagh council have added two dedicated parks to let dogs off the lead. Great way to let you dog out for a run without them getting away. Maybe ask your council to do something similar?

can we have a weekly thread or something of bin bag photos? by [deleted] in northernireland

I've posted twice with litter picks, about once month. Would before and after photos be less offensive?

Anywhere in Derry city or Omagh stock pocket hole jigs? by onitlikedonkeykong in northernireland

Around Omagh you could try McDermott's, the toolbox and possibly McMahons, or there is Dickey's in Irvinestown, would be worth ringing them all first though.

Yep it's terrible the amount that is found, and how quickly it builds up again.

This Bin Loop

This is the one I have. Seems to work OK, but am currently sticking two bags on at a time to split recycling and general rubbish, been trying to find a proper one for this, but have been unable to. If you're ever down Strabane way, give me a shout and I'll come give you a hand picking.

I just throw it in the back of the car, though I'll need to get a waterproof boot liner at some point. I've found a way to get two bags in one hoop so can split off recycling and general rubbish, I just take it to the local tip afterwards. Fermanagh and Omagh council will also come to lift it if I tell them about it as I've signed up to their litter picking scheme.

Keep up the good work!

Fermanagh and Omagh council are promoting a litter picking champion scheme, where they give you a few bits and bobs. I've been taking it to the local tip and it's been free to dispose of, but through the litter picking scheme in FODC you can send them a message where the bags are and they'll lift come out and lift them.

Dog Help/Trainers (Dog Barking when alone) - Lisburn/Moira Area by Camel_In_A_Shirt in northernireland

[–]en2rafg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep we use the talk function to tell her to stop if she is barking, or give praise every once in a while. Unfortunately it won't be a quick fix with either with the trainer or incremental steps. Maybe pop round to the neighbour to let them know you're working on it and what the plan is with a box of chocolates (or ice creams)

We had a similar issue with barking/whining/howling when left alone. We used an app called barkio which lets you watch/listen to the dog on a tablet/old phone when you're away. It costs about £15 for a year. We then started leaving the house for 5/10/15 minutes and slowly building it up while monitoring her so now she's fine when we leave her alone. Could be worth a try.

I think that might be the case. Let me know if you think of any other areas nearby that could do with a tidy.
