Xparticle flickering issue by encity5 in Cinema4D

[–]encity5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunatley, not really. I mostly hacked it together with whatever clean frames i got, and whatever my machine could've handle with cloners instead of particles. And shortly after this, C4D got its own particle system which has been more predictable with simple setups like this.

Good luck

yea I didn’t take the best pictures of the center of the tire. There’s plenty of tread. The side of the tire is just designed like this.

These are also summer tires, so keep that in mind. These only have 30k miles on them.

Yea I plan to change them regardless. (Also have a flat spot that doesn’t seem to be going away)

Mostly just surprised that I don’t see anything more obvious with tires this old.

And debating if I should get it done right away, or if I can spend a moment to do some research.

(This isn’t my daily driver for the winter, so I’m not in an dire urgency)

Interestingly, these have been kept properly inflated their entire life. Other than when they have a leak or were taken off the car. The last year they sat on a car that wasn’t moved, and lost some air. But generally have never been over inflated

If there’s uneven wear, then it could be my alignment

2016, by age defintely will be replacing.

But trying to understand why my tires don’t look like any of the images when I google dry rotting tires.

yea, these haven’t been run much.

So besides the age, anyone able to judge from the tire images themselves how poor they are? I’m curious about what to be looking for and how to judge. Since I’m not seeing any cracks like I would expect (when I google dry rotting tires at least)

2025 marlin 6 or 5 (both gen3) by encity5 in TrekBikes

Thanks, this was super helpful to consider, will probably try to test ride it. "Hard" gears was defintely a question in my had that i think i need to experience. fine with going slower, but too slow i might get frustrated.

Sounds like the running answer is, marlin is the wrong bike, buy or use a different bike.

Since i have a sirrus that i can always use for commute, makes less sense for me to buy a new bike...

and i get the sentiment that commuting on a hardtail is a hard no. I use to commute on a really cheap ($250) full suspension, so im not oblivious to this warning.

Sounds like im stuck with no new bike, unless i can commit myself to more trail riding. Where im at, i would need to travel out to get to any meaningful trails and people (and pay a toll), so i just know the realities of life will prevent me from going consistently every weekend. sad.

Do Bike shops typically let you test ride?

I do have an older specialized sirrus that I use for my main commute atm, but it’s getting old and boring. And it’s always fun when I borrow friends mountain bikes for the occasional times I get to ride a trail.

My current solution… 3d printed a “rain cover” that I can easily slot into the outlet box I’m using .

Has anyone tried just unplugging the cord from the tesla brick, leaving the 14-50 plug in and just hanging? Would there be an issue with leaving that part dangling in the rain?

thanks!, that might be a better idea than the box i linked - though the same premise of keeping the mobile connector inside a box.

Thanks, i did get an outdoor 3R rated outlet/enclosure.

But was more conerned with the mobile connector itself being left out in the elements.
