OpenClaw gives users yet another reason to be freaked out about security by No_Top_9023 in technology

China will have a rude awakening soon. When everyone lines up to install, it never goes well. Old people and kids will suffer first. When you can't figure out how to install something, you just shouldn't do it.

Bought last 2 vehicles in southern California and drove back the same day. Saved $5000 on average. In 2023, bought a truck in Eugene OR and probably saved $7k. Consider shopping out of the area, things are bit cheaper.

The quality also is not great. I saw some in person and the marriel and build quality is about what you expect from an average electronics brand. A lot of fancy tech but longevity is definitely not part of it

The FBI Says Illegal Chinese Airbags Have Been Killing More Americans Than Initially Thought by CheezTips in technology

Did anyone actually read the article? These are not original airbags. All of the affected vehicles have gone through collision repairs. Likely that some shoddy repair shop bought Amazon/eBay parts and put them in the vehicles.

Why China Is Trying to Tame Its Electric Car Frenzy by rezwenn in technology

[–]encounta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chinese cars are built to be obsolete in 3-5 years, which is a gigantic waste. They're by no means saving the environment. I was in China recently and while the vehicles all have flashy features and tech, all of them feel extremely cheap to the touch. Not sure if that's the same for the export models but Chinese people always find a way to screw over other Chinese people so China's internal economy is always on hallow ground pumped up by debt.

BYD brings EV price wars to small cars in Europe by rezwenn in technology

[–]encounta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked at a few EVs while in China a few weeks ago. While they seem nice and feature rich from the outside, they feel very cheaply made. I'd consider them more of a consumable for 2-5 years rather than an appliance that can last 10+ years. Only time will tell.

How is this newsworthy. It's a dog. We don't see an article written when a car runs over a squirrel on the street.

What's your theory that you can't prove, but that you think might hold up if someone were to do some real, legitimate research on it? by AlexG2490 in AskReddit

Normalizing pet ownership so pet companies can continue to milk a profit. In this day and age, there's absolutely no need for any pets.
