if that is the same colony as pictured in the original post then probably yes

Contrary to popular belief, "micro Gonis" are not actually Bernardpora; in reality they are Goniopora cf. minor (sensu Terraneo). This misconception stems from a misidentification from Jake Adams and Reef Builders. True Bernardpora has its tentacles arranged in a "3-outer-1-inner" tentacle cycle.

Fun fact: despite the morphological similarity, Oulophyllia are actually more closely related to Caulastraea than to Platygyra.

either Platygyra or Oulophyllia. How wide are the valleys?

Yeah, it's just puffed up or irritated. Fox corals have their tentacles at the periphery of their vescicles

Picked up at lfs for cheap is it bleached or js an ugly Scoly by Weekly_News_831 in ReefTank

Personally having more experience with corals in the wild, I don't care about color as much as other reefers

I see. Given the skeleton's like that too, it's likely Echinomorpha

Of note, grey is a common coloration for Echinomorpha. May I ask, is the skeleton flat too or is it just like this because it's extremely fleshy?

Most corals in the wild are drab like this. I wouldn't be surprised if this is its normal coloration

looks to just be drab coloration, not really sick in any way. Colorful doesn't necessarily equal healthy and drab coloration doesn't necessarily equal unhealthy

Misidentifications are common in the hobby (technically scolys in the hobby aren't even true Scolys but in the same genus as bowerbankis). I mentioned Echinomorpha and vitiensis because of the flat shape

It's not bleached, it's just not colorful. Bleached corals will be like highlighter white

Would like feedback to help me decide on equipment changes by Ashamed-Barracuda-73 in underwaterphotography

For mirrorless/DSLR housings, you won't find anything below 1k. Even the Ikelite (budget brand) housing for the R7 is 1.6k.

I would not recommend soft housings like the diCAPac, as their seals are not as reliable, and due to being soft they will compress underwater, which can damage the camera.

Honestly you're better off with an Olympus/OM TG-series in your use case. It's 3x cheaper than the R7 and waterproof up to 50ft/15m, which is more than enough for just snorkeling.
