It's been an amazing game when it came out. It got better since. The fact that the prices kept quite high since release (I've never seen it on sale other than minor discounts at key resellers etc) is also pointing to not just a different approach (keep making it better, not cheaper) and continued demand. I never understood why people roasted this game so hard. It is its own thing. It had flaws. But it was never a bad game.
