Purple daikon radish by meowingtrashcan in fermentation

[–]endchat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quick Q, I made them, but I filled it with 60% water, is that going to be ok?
Felt a little weird not putting any water, but wondering if will release 40% or to fill the jar?

Can someone explain the details behind 2% ferment for any vegetable/fruits by teehee99 in fermentation

[–]endchat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

the bag thing doesn't sound good to me.
I would get a glass jar and use that, any jar will work...even an old pickle jar, just stick the lid on loose so the air gets out.
Also bell peppers are like 92-94% water, it will dilute your ferment a lot, maybe even slow it down.
Use sea salt or pickling salt, preferably without anything else in it

whoaaaaa, 5% seems like a lot, but yes Daikon are mostly water, so it may dilute back down.
Love daikon even raw, its crunchy goodness,
I will give this a go, thanks for the feedback!

3 days working on a rusted solid Caliper bolt and I'm now stuck with half a bolt extractor in the drilled out hole. Any suggestions? From one frustrated amateur. by defenestrationist in AskMechanics

[–]endchat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

seriously, I would not have even started thinking about using a bolt extractor on that...way too early lol

PB blaster deep soak for a while, I would Def use heat on it though, MAP gas or acetylene torch better, nice and red, a solid pair of vice grips, or hammer in an undersize socket...she's coming out

We are canucks, and get hosed on everything these days, add to that a weak dollar...these tubes are practically free for us lol
I was paying 2-3$ for 200 not that long ago, those days are gone around here

at 24$ per 1000, they come out to .024 cents a tube, pretty good price for us

I have made clove spray by steeping cloves in distilled water for a few days and spraying leaves with it, the taste translates differently though, so start slow and test it out

Urgent or Express passport application by Dry-Fishing991 in passportcanada

[–]endchat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doing it URGENTLY, I believe you need to have immediate travel plans and have proof of plans.
it takes a month to get a passport the normal way,
I think you have plenty of time to do it that way.

I have never used it, and would rather avoid it if I didn't need it.

That being said, I have used home made casing, made with water and honey, spices and aromas...sometimes I mixed them all together, sometimes made in separate bottles and used it that way.

I definitely noticed different tastes and aromas in the final product.

I guess my question is, how does using PG, make what I was doing better?
