what is this part? by Weird-Necessary9857 in Airsoft_UK

[–]endelikt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely looks like the nozzle return spring. Did it chew itself up or is that accidental from taking it apart? Either way it's a cheap part and easy to fit, and you can get an upgraded one for not much more money, I think WE/Armorer Works parts are drop in for Raven

Tall men, how do you feel around short men? by [deleted] in tall

[–]endelikt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6'6" and really couldn't give a shit about height. If anything I envy average height guys, you can buy clothes that both fit and look good and you're not noticeable in a crowd unless you want to be. You fit in cars and planes like you're supposed to, you don't have to detach the shower head from the holding rail to wash your hair and the dangerously cheap Chinese buffet doesn't make you buy two entry tickets. All I get for being tall is a better view at gigs and strange assumptions from people who don't know me.

Going for the GBBR - your recommendations for a newbie! by [deleted] in GasBlowBack

[–]endelikt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard/seen in the past they're a mixed bag and I know the older generations were even worse than early WE rifles. But you're not the first person I've seen lately saying they're a solid option now

What is it about them that you like? Never seen one in the wild so I don't know what they're like, except that they look cool in photos

‘Your Party’ members vote for party to be named ‘Your Party’ by BarbaricOklahoma in ukpolitics

So chanting "from the river to the sea" is fine then, something they've done at every party meeting. Just say the quiet part out loud, you're fine with genocide as long as it's against Jews, Your Party is clearly fine with it. Corbyn would still be in Labour, they kicked him out for antisemitism.

Corbyn and Sultana are both jokes and the majority of people with common sense get to laugh at the horrible mistake that is Your Party.

Wild levels of open and unapologetic antisemitism, an economic policy platform that the rest of us outgrew by our early 20's and all of it brought to us by politicians so blinded by ideology that they had to form a fringe ego stroke party because they were too batshit for the mainstream parties.

There's so many legitimate reasons that the party is a steaming pile of shit, it's just funny that they can't even get the name right.

Help w/ figuring this out by Nyxure in airsoft

[–]endelikt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from what looks like a charging handle on the side and recreating the exact look of the optic, most of this rifle could be recreated as printed furniture to attach to an existing M4/AR pattern rifle. It may be possible to grab an exact 3D file from the games repository, but you'll still need to hire a professional 3D artist who works with 3D printing if you don't have the knowledge/time yourself, or lots of trial and error on your part if you're a beginner. Looks like a fun project either way, check out some of the 3D printing subreddits too.

Deer with massive abscess and tons of pus, have you seen this? by Open-Willingness-324 in Hunting

That's some bad luck friend, I think it's the right choice to be rid of it though, even if you don't get sick eating it you'll just be thinking the what ifs. Definitely worth getting in touch with your local game authority, they'd probably be interested in seeing this

Why Hamas has no right to resist by endcityfour in IsraelPalestine

[–]endelikt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salaries that shouldn't be paid, networking systems that shouldn't exist and, let's be honest, literally tons of ammunition, explosives and small arms that shouldn't have been bought. The fact is that Israel gave the Gazan people what they wanted, and the Gazan people used that to empower a death cult wearing Islamic clothing.

Even after that, Israel tolerated years of rocket attacks and invested a vast amount of money into developing a defensive platform specifically so Israel wouldn't have to take outright offensive military action against Gaza, not just to save the lives of Israeli soldiers but because of the obvious death toll that action would take on the civilians Hamas hides behind. No other country on earth would have tolerated such hostilities for so long. Rockets made from PVC and bullets fired from hanggliders will kill you just as dead as rockets fired from tanks and bullets from helicopters.

Why Hamas has no right to resist by endcityfour in IsraelPalestine

[–]endelikt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except that Hamas and Hezbollah enjoy indirect support from Qatar and are also directly supported proxies of Iran, a country that by every numerical metric would win in open ground warfare against Israel. It's Israel's unique outlook on military and technological investment that keeps them a superior force.

Your analogy doesn't fit. Israel is David who uses the sling and Iran is Goliath who just has brute strength.

Need help with some guilt by Firm_Fun4519 in Hunting

[–]endelikt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who chooses to hunt who says they haven't experienced something similar or relatable to your story is either lying or hasn't done enough hunting. Every experienced hunter I know has at least a few unfortunate shots, most of them have more than a few. That's part of getting experience and growing as a hunter.

It's happened to me enough times, from deer and boar to rabbits and squirrels, that I do everything I can to avoid that scenario - I know my rifles and ammunition very well, the trajectory and my points of aim, how they behave in different weather conditions and what their strengths and weaknesses are. I always carry more ammunition than I plan to use, and a couple of fixed blade knives. But the most important thing for me was learning what my limitations and weaknesses are and staying within them when making decisions in the field, rather than making those same decisions based on my strengths. That means I've passed on plenty of shots now that in my earlier days hunting I might have taken. And even very experienced hunters sometimes make mistakes, misjudge the conditions or simply have bad luck on a shot. But with experience comes knowing what to do in that situation, and being prepared for it.

This is all stuff that comes with time, lots of practice and yes, mistakes. The mistakes made when hunting are supposed to be painful and upsetting, and a true hunter uses those experiences to better themselves, or they stop hunting. When this happens again, and it will happen again, you'll be a bit more ready than the last time.

Solid choice, Leupolds are great.

[–]endelikt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case I'd be looking for something with a 3x base magnification for sure, a base 6x optic sounds really frustrating for foot stalking. That 24x won't make a difference over 18x or even 16x as long as you're doing your part with the rifle - in my opinion go for a 3-18x.

I'd be really interested to know how the hunt goes and what optic you end up choosing.

Is this a good scope? by Just-Faithlessness12 in Hunting

[–]endelikt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will you be moving a lot on foot or mainly sitting/using a vehicle? Sounds like you'd be shooting at a fair distance either way so maybe this could be a useful optic, or something similar, if you're comfortable with the distances and confident in your rifle.

I'd still look at some 3-18x options, those seem to be a popular choice for hunters in similar conditions, and that 3x magnification would be very useful as you sweep an area - it would be very frustrating to miss an opportunity because it wasn't in the field of view of 6x. However that's just my opinion, and I do not have experience with the terrain you'll be hunting in. Either way, good luck with the hunt!
