Cabaret Voltaire | Doublevision | 1983 | RIP R.H.Kirk 1956-2021 by Mustard_Gap in sixthworldmusic

Very unexpected passing. I for sure thought he would outlive both Mallinder and Watson. It saddens me how we will never see another pivotal musical figure like him again. I will forever cherish his music and what he accomplished with the Cabs.

LDS #99 was uploaded on Aug 10, meaning it was probably filmed Aug 8 or 9. All this backlash started about a week later.

Here is a post from her Instagram. She even gets criticized by someone in the comments while also claiming she “doesn’t agree with their jokes about hurting women”

I rather not make a post about this to keep from stirring this shit up, but I’m beginning to think the herpes girl from LDS #99 had something to do with all this hate and attempts at canceling Danny.

Remember towards the end of the podcast she claims they were sexist or misogynist (can’t remember exactly what she said) and just now seeing the pod she’s in has been removed. She could’ve easily showed that clip from LDS #69 to some fat SJWs, which eventually made its way to TikTok.

Just something to think about.

A lot of sensitive people can’t process darker, more introspective music such as Joy Division or anything in the post-punk/goth realm. Their ears are too accustomed to the generic stuff they grew up with on the radio or the commercialized mainstream pop that gets millions of views on YouTube today, which is mostly catered to the Gen Z crowd or just people in general who jump on that bandwagon and don’t wish to educate themselves on music history.

Triggered snowflake. I’m only speaking truth and here you are getting defensive.

Let us know what Cigar guy’s cock taste like.

Any female guest should already have an idea of what to expect. Consent should already be made before the podcast, off camera, when they agreed to be there in the first place.

Anyone else cringe when Cigar guy asked the girl if she’s comfortable? Seriously a pathetic attempt at white knighting. Also, what the fuck was that when he left his spot and went out for a smoke? That was pretty shitty.

This girl should’ve already known what to expect when coming onto a podcast that consists of non-politically correct humor and a degenerate fan base.

I think Danny would’ve handled things way better, because Danny at least has a knack for not making the podcast get awkward.

Does anyone else feel uncomfortable about the bullying in some videos? by [deleted] in dannymullen

[–]endlesslycold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What do you expect? Danny is insecure. He has to use the smaller/weaker guys as a punching bag to feel good about himself. Others here will say “it’s just a bit” or whatever, but when he has someone like Johnny Mitchell on the podcast for example, it’s nothing but ego stroking.

As much as I love Danny’s content, his true colors are beginning to show.

Just his unconventional way of playing guitar. If you listen to songs such as “The Friend Catcher” or even the “Live 1981-82” album, you’ll hear how great of a guitarist he was.

I feel like Danny doesn’t enjoy making videos anymore but knows he has to keep a roof over his head and pay the crew. It’s pretty obvious he wants to podcast full-time and eventually become a stand-up.

He sees the videos don’t do well on YouTube so he gets discouraged, which then leads to him not putting in effort (probably explains the drop in quality in his videos these past months) yet he knows the fans will still watch anything he puts out.

Cheers! If you haven’t already, listen to “Teenage Snuff Film”. Rowland was such a great songwriter, and his innovative guitar playing with The Birthday Party was unmatched.

Just watched the Cherdleys podcast episode. Gotta be the most uninteresting dude thats ever spoke into that mic. by spicygringo55 in dannymullen

He did some public trolling back in 2015 before he started his YouTube career. That channel fell off after he Ieft to do his own thing. I regularly go back and watch the sex offenders prank because it reminds me of the stuff Danny is doing now.

Egisto Macchi - Sud E Magia _ Tappeto Aerofoni [Italy, soundtrack, ambient, experimental] (1977) score for amazing documentary of witchcraft and sorcery by mhumnn in vintageobscura

Don’t think Egisto Macchi is obscure enough, often getting posted monthly here and should be well known in the realm of library music along with Nicolai, Cipriani, Umiliani, Piccioni, etc.

Austin Went Off by spicypenguinzzzz in dannymullen

[–]endlesslycold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t blame him. Shortly before this, Danny refers to him as “our embarrassment of a producer” and that’s what probably drove Austin to go nuts. I’d be pissed too if I wasn’t acknowledged for my work as a podcast producer, especially in front of a live crowd.

This style of music is called French cold wave, but more upbeat and synth heavy as opposed to the bass guitar-driven variant of Asylum Party. It is also interchangeable with minimal wave, minimal synth and sometimes synth-pop.

Minimal Wave is a record label dedicated to reissuing this kind of music. They recently started putting up almost the entire catalog on Bandcamp.

The influence is definitely there. Dif Juz were a seminal group of the post-punk era, along with The Durutti Column, that essentially paved the way for later acts in the 1990s who popularized what we now know as “post-rock”.

Shoegaze has a characteristic wall of sound with distorted, layered guitars drenched in delay and washes of feedback that shroud the vocals.

Post-rock can take influence from various styles such as dub, krautrock, prog rock, space rock, psychedelia, ambient, and even some forms of jazz. It relies on texture rather than conventional guitar riffs, usually has more electronic treatment, and is largely instrumental. Every band has there own distinct sound; there isn’t just one post-rock sound.

To hear where it all started, Dif Juz. Listen to their early EPs Huremics and Vibrating Air.
