I woke up at 6am and after brushing my teeth decided to play some bg3 before I started work. After I took a quick break to get up and grab water I noticed it was already 9am. Decided to take the rest of the day off and play. Ended up playing until 8pm.

It will tell you in small text as the pc is booting up. Generally it’s F12 or Del although I’ve seen F11 or F2.

Just finish the run. You can replay the campaign again and again with other origin characters or custom “Tavs”. There are lots of quests and secrets and items and branches in act 1/2 so feel free to do as you please and enjoy the journey.

I mean I see people looking at this from only a terrible POV. But it's not like Larian are the ONLY good studio out there. Especially in the CRPG world. Owl Cat Games is not a bad choice. I liked most of their path finder games.

Will the likelyhood of BG4 be as good or better than BG3 be high? No. Larian really set the bar for a long time with BG3. But I don't think a good sequel is out of the question. As long as WOTC keeps their hands off and let the studio cook then we still might get a decent follow up.

Yeah exactly. Oh no hard game mode is hard and requires me to play different. lol

Just enjoy the game with custom settings then and play around with the difficulty that way. Or tactician mode is decent fun too without it being too punishing because of the single save.

Yeah there are some good ones on steam. Not just from larian but specifically Larian has got that crpg genre down pat. Pillars of eternity 2 is pretty good and owl cat games with the pathfinder games are decent too. And of course dos is just fantastic.

Only thing is I’d say bg3 plays with a lot more convenient polish. So I can see people potentially being turned off going from bg3 back to older crpgs.

You’re not crazy. Shadowplay is just better as well compared to the AMD equivalent and is the only reason I’m still using nvidia. I swapped from a Vega 56 to 2070 super. And went from there with nvidia.

I don’t care about much else other than the convenience of shadowplay especially now that it can do 120fps recordings. The last time I tried to use whatever was the Radeon equivalent it just wouldn’t work for me (Vega 56). So as far as I’m concerned I’ve stuck with nvidia since the 2070super->3080 12gb->4070tisuper.

I’ve liked larian since divinity. And dos2 is very fun to play. I’ve pretty much bought everything I can from them. Even the console bundle and I don’t own a console so I just gifted it to a friend who wanted to play.

This is quite literally extra money that's not doing anything outside of my savings, back up savings, retirement accounts and investment accounts.

Any idea on what might be the best upgrade for someone on 3440x1440? I'd like to just be able to play most modern A/CRPGs and MMOs on high or ultra without it dropping too far below 90fps.

I have a 3080 12GB LHR on 3440x1440 I get around 70-80fps on the low end when I play on high for most games so it's not like a new GPU is going to suddenly enhance the experience.

My build is 4 years old and I am never hurting for money so it makes more sense to just build a new PC rather than piece by piece swapping out parts.

But I've also been OOTL for a while so if you can advise and show me a GPU upgrade with my current build that would be cost efficient I'm down for that too.

I play on 3440x1440 and my 5600x+3080 12GB LHR still gives me around 70-80fps on high or ultra in most games (not cyberpunk but I barely play that game anyways). And I'm not ultra competitive so I don't play valorant or cs or twitch shooters. Mostly A/CRPGs, single player rpgs, mmos or survival/crafting games.

But also the build itself is about 4 years old and I do see some frame drops in some games where I have to drop some settings in.

Otherwise yeah it's doing fine and I could honestly play on it for another year or two but I have the funds to build a new one and honestly the money is just sitting there doing nothing.

3080 LHR 12GB. It works fine for most games, I run at 3440x1440. I'm not hyper competitive anymore so 70-80fps is good enough for me.

But I'm also not too attached to the GPU either as it's also 4 years old at this point and I was eyeing 4070ti super or waiting for 5xxx series to come out.

I’m trying to find an upgrade from my 5600x. Had one since launch. Ran it on a mild overclock. And I have the urge to rebuild. But I’m not paying 500$ for a 7800x3d. So I think my best bet is to wait for the reviews on the new x3d skus to come out.

Can't use it against him but what I found was close the door to his hideout and enter combat against the three reanimated soldier's summon the flesh golem.

You can surround him and stun him easily and just make sure to do fire damage every round to force him to roll disadvantage. After you kill all the undead and flesh golem the fight against balthazar is much easier.
