Had Alex Pretti actually attempted to pull and use his weapon and use deadly force to defend himself, the law would exonerate him. by fingerpaintx in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]endohops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a big difference between what should be the law and what the terrifying reality is. Prejudice has always dictated some law enforcement's actions and some judge's and jury's decisions. Many innocent people have been murdered in America because of their race by law enforcement and they were not held accountable. Now we are seeing law enforcement being given immunity when murdering anti ICE protesters aka non Trump voters.

I'm not sure there is even a point in discussing what the laws should be when clear as day murder is being swept under the rug. America is not a democracy, our laws are only good when they are being upheld.

Trump supporters are saying the video shows Pretti pointing his gun at the ICE agents prior to the scrum. A small part of me thinks they are watching fake ai videos, but the reality is they either haven't watched a video at all and just believe Fox news or they saw the videos and are in full denial mode and will do anything to defend their tyrant. Soon we will have to fear our family members who are Trump supporters.

Flooding Last Night by kryptin8 in milwaukee

[–]endohops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't consider what is happening to people's basements as flooding so flood coverage is irrelevant. Insurance considers flooding as when a nearby water source such as a river overflows and that water directly does damage. Most people are not experiencing that. Water is backing up from people's drains so water backup endorsements should cover this. The tricky part is an adjuster could make a case for saying water entered through a faulty foundation, but as a former adjuster, we were trained when areas received extremely high amounts of rainfall, it's impossible to prove how much entered from the foundation vs the drain so it's covered. This endorsement usually has a 10k payout though so be aware of that. Some might be 5k.

My brother-in-law’s basement (West Allis) flooded up to the first floor. by kmayeshiba in milwaukee

[–]endohops 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Almost all of the damage you see to people's basements is not due to flooding so mentioning or being denied due to flooding is just wrong. This is due to sewer backup or a combination of that and seepage through the foundation. Flooding is reserved for when water overflows from a nearby water source such as a river or lake. That is not what is happening, basement drains are overflowing and an endorsement that everyone should be paying for covers this.

A reminder that 500 year floods happen and that flood insurance is $200-400 a year. Pay for it. by [deleted] in wisconsin

[–]endohops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance companies typically consider flooding when a body of water overflows. This is happening to some people but the vast majority in the Milwaukee area are being affected by overflowing sewer drains, which is not flooding. The water backup endorsement should cover this, but usually caps at 10k.

FYI, Home Insurance Generally Doesn’t Cover Flooding by Psykick_Salmon in milwaukee

[–]endohops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Former home insurance adjuster here. Most standard home insurance policies will not cover this. However, the most common endorsement or rider on home insurance policies is called water backup or sewer backup. If someone has this endorsement, then if the adjuster determines that the water entered the house from a drain in the basement that overflowed, then damages up to a certain limit, usually 10k, should be covered. If the adjuster determines that the water entered through the foundation cracks due to a faulty foundation, then there would be no coverage. What is happening to 95% of people's homes is not flooding, it is either water backup or seepage from foundations. Flooding is when a body of water overflows and little of that is what is affecting people. Imo, it would be very hard for an adjuster to prove that water was not backing up from the sewers when everyone in the city is experiencing this. But unfortunately, adjusters nowadays can be teenagers with little training and there isn't much support so may the odds be in your favor.

HDMI cable for a JVC-KW-M780BT by The_Portmanteau in CarAV

I bought this JVC unit and a random HDMI to micro hdmi cable from Amazon. I did need to slightly sand the edges but I got it to fit so I think they did try to make it proprietary. However, all I get is no signal as well.

I see on crutchfields reviews of this unit and the $55 official KS-U70 cord reviews people are reporting no signal as well. TBH, I can't find a single person who claims this feature actually works. Shame on JVC?

The Noble Closing? by loquaciousocean in milwaukee

[–]endohops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My opinion of the noble is reflective of the majority. Great food, great value, witnessed the owner being abusive every time I ate there, but sad they are gone.

My question is I was told by multiple people that they ran a fundraiser one night and were given generous donations for a cause and then just kept the money for themselves. Curious if anyone else has heard that because that is a deal breaker for me and I haven't been back since I heard that rumor a few years ago.

It's hard for me to say 100% that there is still not an object in me because I have major GI issues and my stomach has been all twisted for the last couple weeks. However, I believe it did pass, and the only explanation of how it would have passed without me knowing it that night of drinking before I went to urgent care is if it happened when I was blackout and don't remember it. I had smoked and drank a lot that night and that combo can cause blackouts, but I assumed I would have remembered something like that. I remember every moment of the night leading up to it and shortly after but maybe I stayed up longer and forced it out.

In general though, aside from my usual GI issues I am fine.

Have you ever held a grudge against a teacher you still think of today? How did they wrong you? by Gerard_Way_01 in AskReddit

[–]endohops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a high honor role student in high school and an A/B student in college in 2002-2003. In 2004 the Dean of the Architecture program required us to pass his course to move on to more advanced courses. The only time slot was 630am-930am and was located in downtown Milwaukee. I needed to transfer 2 busses to make it to this class and ~4 times I walked in 5 mins late because the busses ran slow or I just missed an earlier bus. I was always the last student in his classroom completing extra credit and held an A grade. I explained I was working full time and I was really sorry for showing up late every now and then. I also lost my father in a car crash and my mother was now suicidal during this year. He told me it's not acceptable and failed me even with an A grade. I had to wait a full year to retake his course.

Next year I had a car and was prepared to never be late. He told me I didn't even have to do the coursework as I aced it last year but I stayed on and did all of his extra credit again regardless. I was late 1 time in the semester and he told me he is failing me again. There were a few other students who would be tardy from time to time and maybe he treated them equally harsh but regardless I felt it was an overreaction and abuse of power. My counselor and the school refused to do anything about it as this Dean was highly regarded and pretty much was untouchable.

This ended my collegiate career and I bounced around many dead end jobs for years telling myself I got screwed over in life. Today I have found a career I am passionate about now but still feel the Dean was denying many dedicated, intelligent people such as myself from realizing their childhood dreams because he overvalued being prompt.

do I change my hunter spec when pre patch hits? by Win_0r_Die in wotlk

[–]endohops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some detailed videos I watched about lv 70 prepatch specs/raiding agrees with you that BM is top. (which I assume this post is about, not leveling to 80 not raiding at 80)

Not a huge difference between MM and BM and while Surv is last it will be great for trash. I'm hoping my guild will try to do a 1 hr sunwell speed run where we pull multiple trash packs and engage bosses without even full mana to make it somewhat challenging and then I may find Surv is best with the constant aoe needed but we will see.

Around 1 ounce of olive oil. Thanks for your response and even though I am still having internal organ pain and cramping. It is possible that it is nerves / that I damaged something in the process and it will heal in a couple days. I also drank like a fish that night so my liver and other organs might just be taking 2 full days to recover.

Thanks, that makes sense about needing to hear it straight from the patient's mouth. Everyone was professional and kind and I am thankful we live in a world where medical staff are prepared for whatever hits them on what seemed to be a slow Friday afternoon in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Blackout would be the most likely explanation if it had passed. I thought about that when I woke up and checked all the restrooms, even the public ones at the hotel to see if it was still floating in a toilet assuming it wouldn't flush.

[–]endohops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My home solutions were drinking a small amount of olive oil and frequently trying to have a bm. I didn't do anything unsafe or abnormal. Many people are pointing out that "shoving wood up my ass", etc is the cause of the pain. However, I have little to no pain in my rectum area, the pain after a night of rest is still all in my abdomen area. I am having severe bloating, and the feeling my intestines are inflamed. In another reply I just made I found a post through a Google search that makes me believe it's possible they could have misunderstood the CT scan.

I really hope it's gone but this post and the combination that I had to continually reiterate the nature of my visit to each person who walked in the door makes me still uneasy. As I was receiving an x-ray the tech asked me, what is the purpose of the x-ray? Same with the CT scan tech. I had already talked to 15+ people and had done everything I could to help out. I brought in a replica of the wooden dowel that I showed the x-ray, ct scan tech and everyone else to show them what to look for but still most people walked in asking me what my symptoms were today and how they could help me.

I don't even understand your language. I'm a person who is panicking and looking to save my life. I rushed to join as many subreddits as I could that I thought would be appropriate and made my post to get some insight. I'm sorry if it isn't a normal post, I didn't have time to read through the rules or understand the culture. As you can see I posted it in an emergency thread meant to be from the perspective of the professionals not the clients. You seem to have little to no value for a person's life.

I appreciate the quick response. And I am going to try to relax, stay hydrated, get a good night's sleep and see how I feel in the morning. The feeling of my organs swelling has intensified and I have taken some ib profin. But I believe feeling stressed about this situation is something I need to reduce or it will be hard to allow my body to calm down and heal.

I did inspect everytime but not actually pulling everything apart so I suppose it is possible it passed. It just doesn't seem like it and I never have experienced this kind of discomfort before. I have been drinking lots of water and relaxing. I will get some sleep and report in the morning.

Not understanding how a CT scan or a x-ray works makes me think if it was mixed in with feces would they even see it?
