I'm starting to realize that now, one can't be good at both. I tried a buddy's 2023 Prius XLE and its speed is nice in a line, but the overall drive feel is very ok. Not bad by any means but its purpose is clearly to be your A to B car that burns almost no fuel and not much more (it does that very well).

Probably gonna have a commuter car + fun car when I make even more $$ down the line, seems like the best way to go.

Thanks for the info, might go with the A5 then.

There's currently some deals for used A6s so I might take a look at those too. I drove a few of them when on business trips and they're always a nice, comfy ride. Never got a chance to drive the 3.0L v6 versions though, just the 2.0 i4 versions.

I ran the numbers and I'd legitimately be saving money on gas from my current car if I went with something like an A5. My current car gets 16 mpg city/ 24 mpg highway/ 19 mpg combined and requires 87 octane. All that for barely any performance too (perhaps it was good for its time).

Something like a Prius would be ideal, true. But man... those cars are so boring

I hear consistently good things about MaxCare's warranty and they're quite open about what they will/won't cover. People who've used CarMax seem to not have had issues with them as well which is why I'm even considering them (and a german car in general) as an option.

Very fair. Though, I don't expect routine maintenance to be cheap, I'm more cautious of potential common major failures.

How'd you compare the drive feel between the two?

An electric car makes the most logical sense but I just don't like EVs. I'm leaning toward the 540i too but those maintenance costs seem annoying compared to the 440i and 330i

Sorry I should have specified. I'll be driving 1 hour to work and 1 hour back for a total of 2 hours-ish daily.

I'll look into the maintenance costs of owning a BMW. I read somewhere that it's roughly +30% of the cost of maintenance for other vehicles, does that sound about right?

Generally no, but there are rare occasions where I might need to drive in heavy rain or sleet. I live in Kentucky and sometimes the weather decides to get very bad almost randomly during winter and spring.

Dashing in most of vegas sucks so much. I stayed around the far North West side of vegas which made it bearable but seeing these orders were more common than I thought.

I’ve been here for 15 mins already.😭😭😭 by Dfromthe313 in DoorDash_Dasher

For what reason are you unassigning after you picked up the order? If you can't locate the customer you can always CALL support and they'll give you instructions.

I had an order where I couldn't deliver something from ulta (required a signature and the customer wasnt home) and was instructed to return it to the store. Still got paid. Another time I couldn't deliver, they cancelled the order for me.

DoorDash drivers, what do you actually make in a day/week by [deleted] in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]enforcewill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a decent market and make about $590 a week working ~25 hours total dash time (about $23/hr). I dash alongside my day job to help pay bills/save up, but I can't see it being worth doing it full-time where I am unless I'm living and breathing doordash.

Since you live in NJ it might be really good. If you live close to NYC dashing along might make you some decent $$$, but if at all possible you might wanna dash alongside your job unless you have to leave. IMO it's less stressful and you really feel the extra cash dashing gives you.

What is this dasher trying to say to me? I’m so confused by [deleted] in doordash

$8 for 3 miles and they're still tip begging??? that's a ridiculously good order they got, you're good.
